It’s no secret that Covid-19 changed the way consumers shop, and three years later, UK shoppers surveyed said they prefer to shop online. Additionally, shoppers have said it’s more convenient to shop on online marketplaces such as Amazon (86%) and eBay (58%), Etsy (32%), Facebook marketplace (22%) and Temu (14%)
Along with the UK returning to normal post-Covid, Brits still agree that shoppers prefer shopping online over the high streets, with 22% saying high streets aren’t inviting anymore.
Georgia Leybourne, Chief Marketing Officer at Linnworks commented: “Covid-19 rocked the way UK consumers shop for home and garden products, with the majority now preferring to shop online. It is clear that retailers will need to continue to rethink and reshape their approaches to in-store, online and supply chains, in order to meet constantly evolving consumer expectations.
“47% of consumers said the convenience of online shopping, especially for home and garden products, has become a significant factor in the shortfall of footfall on the high street.
