Castignac, Brookfield’s French logistics platform, announces that it has signed a new 9 year lease agreement with AB InBev France. The world’s largest brewer has agreed to take up warehousing space at the flagship e-logistics park, e-Valley, in Northern France. Castignac manages a 724,000 sqm portfolio of logistics assets in France on behalf of Brookfield.
The agreement was brokered by CBRE and is part of AB InBev’s move to consolidate its supply chain across Europe. The new warehouse is 62k sqm and was chosen due to its well-connected location and the opportunity for further expansion, with the potential to increase their space to 90K sqm in the future.
AB InBev France will utilise the expanded warehousing space to store its extensive range of beer products. It will work closely with its newly appointed 3PL provider, ID Logistics, to optimise both wholesale and retail distribution flows. The warehouse will feature designated zones for repacking services to better suit customised orders and market demands. This strategic initiative aims to enhance AB InBev’s supply chain efficiencies for the company’s diverse customer base.
Built on the former Cambrai airbase in the Hauts-de-France region, Castignac secured planning permission for 550k sqm of warehousing at e-Valley. With the new lease agreement, over 60% (350k sqm) of the current warehousing capacity has now been filled. Due to increasing demand from large tenants, the platform continues to expand and will increase the total build space to 410k sqm by the end of next year.
Pieter Anciaux at AB InBev France said, “Opening a new warehouse is a significant achievement which will bring several benefits to our business. Being closer to our customers will result in faster and more efficient deliveries which will improve customer satisfaction and overall business operations. It’s a great step towards providing better service and growing our business.”
Dan Benhamou, senior vice president at Brookfield said, “we are delighted that AB InBev France has chosen e-Valley as its warehousing partner, with the opportunity to expand its footprint as it scales further. We continue to see a lot of demand for long-term leases from blue-chip tenants, who require state-of-the-art premises that are located close to key transport hubs.”
David Taieb, CEO at Castignac said, “We’re proud to welcome AB InBev to our flagship e-logistics park and in doing so, further demonstrate that we have truly created a premium logistics hub for blue-chip tenants which can adapt and scale to their business needs.”
Eric Hemar, chairman and CEO at ID Logistics said, “At ID Logistics, we are proud of this new partnership with AB InBev, which demonstrates the confidence in our expertise in the consumer goods sector. We have worked hand in hand to meet the requirements of AB InBev to ensure efficient and safe technological logistics for France and Europe. This new collaboration is part of the Group’s growth momentum with the opening of new regular contracts.”
e-Valley is a prime logistics hub in Europe that’s dedicated to e-commerce and hybrid businesses. It’s spread over 320 acres of land, with 550k sqm of warehouses, up to 85k sqm of service area and 300k sqm of land reserves.
