As the festive season fast approaches, leading toy retailer Argos has revealed its highly anticipated list of toys set to dominate Christmas wish lists in 2023 – and 50% of the list can be purchased for under £30!
With just over 100-days to go until Christmas day, parents, carers, and grandparents are eagerly starting to think about the perfect present for little ones. Argos have curated an affordable mix of traditional, interactive, and character-themed toys, guaranteed to bring a smile on Christmas morning with prices starting from under £10.
The list includes everything from the Bitzee Interactive Hologram Pet (£32), Drew the Mint Dragon Squishmallow (£13 and exclusive to Argos), never-seen-before toys like Furby Purple Interactive Plush (£69.99), and exhilarating experiment-themed Beast Lab Shark Creator Set (£90).
Iconic toy brands continue to make the list, with Argos predicting the Nerf Elite Double Punch Blaster (£36), the LEGO Star Wars 332nd Ahsoka Clone Trooper Battle Pack, the LEGO Dobby the House Elf set, and the LEGO Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica set will be flying off the shelves and will likely top the wish-lists of older mischief-makers and builders too!
Stars of kids’ much-loved TV shows are also on the list, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Delivery Van (£40) and Gabby’s Dollhouse Cruise Ship (£65).
After an outpouring of love over the summer, it’s no surprise Barbie is set to be a firm favourite this Christmas. Argos’ exclusive Barbie Estate Dolls House with 3 Dolls (£180), is already flying off the shelves and shows no sign of slowing down.
Another inclusion for the doll-obsessed is the Design A Friend Connie Designer Fashion Doll (£30), that the retailer also expects kids to go wild for.
For shoppers with younger children, Argos predicts that interactive toys and make-believe gifts will hit the mark this festive season, with Chad Valley Trevor T-Rex (£9), Chad Valley Wooden 2 in 1 Café (£25), and Chad Valley Pizza Set (£11) all making the list.
For those looking for gifts for animal lovers, Argos has a new and exclusive edition of Little Live Pets – My Puppy’s Home Dalmatian Edition (£64.99), and the Harmony Fingerlings Monkey (£18).
One of the most hotly anticipated toys, the Miniverse Collectable Diner, comes in at just £8.99.
Fay Williams, head of toy buying at Argos, said: “It’s clear that innovation in the toy world is having a big impact on what’s hitting the shelves this Christmas. We’re seeing some exciting changes when it comes to interactive and educational toys especially, as well as continued evolution of toys that inspire creativity through role play. I’m particularly excited to see how science-inspired toys like Beast Lab and new challenge toys like My Puppy’s Home become future Christmas classics.
“We sell a toy every two seconds at Argos and alongside the incredible innovation in the industry, it’s wonderful to see nostalgic brands like Furby, Barbie and LEGO loved by a new generation of kids.
We know that increased costs of living will be playing on families’ minds this Christmas, so we’ve made sure to include a variety of toys that offer great value whatever your budget, interest or play passion.”
