Cowboy, the world’s most connected e-bike, today announces the launch of two new initiatives. Cowboy Connect, described as the platform for software innovation and Core – a bike configuration available on Classic, Cruiser and Cruiser ST with streamlined hardware and software features for the more price sensitive customer.
Since its inception, Cowboy has been driven by its mission to inspire widespread adoption of cycling and is committed to revolutionising urban transportation with its technologically advanced, award-winning electric bikes. With the introduction of Connect, the company takes its customer experience to the next level by providing more options that cater to different requirements of the urban rider.
● COWBOY CONNECT PREMIUM SOFTWARE: Cowboy’s platform for its industry-leading software innovations. Connect is built for riders seeking enhanced connectivity and will be the home of Cowboy’s comprehensive software suite. This includes Cowboy’s latest AdaptivePower technology, Crash Detection, new Apple Watch integration and three new features built with Google Maps Platform: Share My Ride to celebrate achievements and share live journeys, Hazard Alerts – harnessing crash hotspot data to provide the rider with in-ride safety notifications; and Clean Air Routes (powered by Breezometer – recently acquired by Google – and being reintroduced into the Cowboy app). Clean Air Routes shows riders the exact air quality level of the potential routes they can select.
● CORE BIKE CONFIGURATION: A new bike model for the price conscious rider that delivers exceptional value without compromising on the distinctive features and design that define Cowboy. Available for Classic, Cruiser, and Cruiser ST models, Core is equipped with the brand’s signature removable battery, Find My Bike, GPS, Google Navigation, and Cowboy app. It also showcases Cowboy’s IntuitivePower (Cowboy’s original ride technology built into an electric motor that intuitively responds to pedalling) and an anti-rust chain drive with a 17/48 tooth front and rear sprocket, ensuring a smooth ride cadence in perfect harmony with the IntuitivePower ride feeling, all weighing just 19.3 kg. Core is available in Black at the introductory price of £2,190.
“At Cowboy, our mission has always been to accelerate the adoption of cycling and make it accessible to a wide range of individuals,” stated Tanguy Goretti, Co-Founder and CTO of Cowboy. “In the same way as mobile phones, we are now seeing many of the most cutting edge innovations in e-bikes within software. Cowboy’s software capabilities are the most advanced in the industry, demonstrated by our existing best in class features and now Connect provides a home for all the great future innovation we have in our packed product pipeline.
“When it comes to hardware, we wanted to create a bike from day one that retained the design aesthetic of our award winning bikes but with a streamlined set of features that meant we could offer it at a lower price. It’s a significant moment for Cowboy as we are able to deliver designs that surpass the different needs and wants of the urban rider.”
Connect will be available to all Classic, Cruiser and Cruiser ST riders via an over the air update through the Cowboy app from July 17 (Android to follow shortly) and will come as standard on the fully equipped (performance) bike configuration.
This latest announcement comes after a packed pipeline of innovation at the company, which unveiled its latest Cruiser model earlier this month, which provides a more upright, ‘Dutch’ riding position. In March, Cowboy unveiled AdaptivePower, software which senses changes in the rider’s environmental conditions and provides the right amount of power. Cowboy also unveiled a suite of new Spring colours, unlocking a broader customer base which led sales of their step-through model to surpass sales of step-over for the first time.
With over 55,000 bikes sold, Cowboy also hit another milestone this year as its rider community now takes more than 1.5 million trips per month, up from 0.8 million in 2022, within 12 countries worldwide. As the first e-bike maker to achieve B-Corp status, Cowboy is also making a positive contribution to the environment through every trip taken.
