Eleven UK Poundland customers still to be found in £30,000 ‘Grand in Your Hand’ giveaway

Already 19 lucky customers have walked out of their local Poundland store £1,000 richer thanks to Poundland’s new ‘Grand in your Hand’ promotion but there are still 11 winners to be found over the next 10 days.
Over 30 days, 30 customers right across the UK will win big just by shopping in store.
The first winners selected at the tills by Poundland’s computer include Rosie Sydenham from Boscombe in Dorset, Gaynor Baker from Newton-le-Willows near St Helens, Bradley Cutler from Swindon, Wiltshire and Laken Jubb from Bransholme near Hull.
There have also been anonymous winners at Poundland stores in Acton, Broadstairs, Forest Gate in London, Leytonstone, Enfield and Crewkerne.
Winners this week includes shoppers at Llandudno, New Malden, Whitby, Gosport, East Kilbride, Greenwich, Sheffield Meadowhall, Ingoldmells and Banbury Cross.
It’s already clear the £1,000 prize is making a big difference to these lucky shoppers.  One of this week’s winners, Hadjer Bellagh, 25, was overjoyed at her win.
She won her prize by checking out at the Mew Malden High Street store while buying bits and bobs for a kids summer club she runs.
Luck was on her side.  She made two transactions on the day – one for personal use and the other for her business.
It turns out that the second transaction was the one that led to her win.
Hadjer said: “If I hadn’t made that second purchase, I wouldn’t have won the £1,000. It’s amazing how things work out sometimes! I feel blessed.
“I was with my mum who’s built a lovely relationship with the colleague at the till over the years and I was thrilled to be winner It was such an unexpected and exciting surprise – I felt a mix of happiness, gratitude, and a bit of disbelief. It was a wonderful feeling!”
Hadjer plans to use her prize money to publish a book for Muslim children – “There aren’t many books that represent the Muslim community and reflect their values and beliefs,” she added.   “I also want to invest part of it into my small business to help it grow and reach more people.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to contribute something meaningful and support my small business at the same time,” said Hadjer.
Grand in Your Hand will continue over the rest of August with 11 prizes still unclaimed.
Thirty customers chosen at random receive an instant cash prize when they pay at any of the discounter’s 3,000 manned checkouts in any of its 750-plus UK stores.
‘Grand in Your Hand’ adds even more excitement to shopping at Poundland which already confirmed earlier this month that it had introduced new in-store displays at its stores to underline its commitment to be the home of the pound.
Loud and proud in every store are over 1,000 grocery items at £1 or less to bring the amazing value Poundland promises its customers.
“Our Grand in your Hand promotion has gone down a storm with our shoppers, making a real difference in their lives,” said Poundland’s customer and marketing director Anna Hay.
“The good news is there are still more than ten unclaimed prizes still waiting to be won and we can’t wait to see how they celebrate.”
