Property and asset management specialist Estama has partnered with the Retail Trust to enhance the health and wellbeing support available to its employees across the UK.
The partnership gives Estama’s team access to a wide range of services provided by the retail industry’s dedicated charity, including confidential counselling, financial wellbeing support, a virtual GP service and a 24-hour wellbeing helpline.
Employees will also benefit from support for younger family members, health and wellbeing resources, and a range of discounts and rewards.
In addition, Estama’s managers will receive specialist training to help them recognise and support colleagues experiencing mental health challenges.
The move reflects Estama’s continued commitment to investing in the wellbeing of its people as the company grows its property and asset management portfolio, which includes around 30 retail destinations across the UK.
Eoin Conway, managing director of Estama, said: “At Estama, we are known for managing commercial property, particularly retail destinations.
“Retail is a unique part of the commercial property sector, with an impact that reaches far beyond the buildings themselves, touching businesses, employees, transport, logistics and the communities they serve every day.
“People are at the heart of what we do. The positive difference made by a great centre management team is as clear to me as that made by an outstanding store manager.
“It is both a privilege and an opportunity to work with the Retail Trust to ensure the health and wellbeing of our people remains central to everything we do.
“Many national retailers already work with the Retail Trust, and what particularly excites us is the opportunity, through our presence across the UK, to help raise awareness of the charity’s support among independent retailers and the wider teams that make retail destinations successful,” he added.
The Retail Trust currently supports more than 200 retail employers, providing practical wellbeing services to hundreds of thousands of people working across the sector.
Recent research by the charity found that stronger relationships between managers and their teams have helped improve employee wellbeing following a challenging period for the retail industry.
The partnership also reflects Estama’s close relationship with the retail sector and its commitment to supporting the people who help retail destinations thrive, from centre management teams to the wider retail community.
The Retail Trust has supported people working in retail since 1832 and continues to provide practical health, wellbeing and financial support to employees across the industry.
