Fireball searches for superfan to attend every day of World Darts Championship

FireballFireball isn’t looking for a brand ambassador – they’re searching for the ultimate darts lover. Today, the brand announces a nationwide hunt to find their very own ‘Final Boss’; one fan ready to step up, take their shot and attend EVERY SINGLE DAY of the 2026 PDC Championship at Ally Pally.

Why? Because someone has to live it so the rest of us can feel it.

A committee led by darts fanatic JaackMaate will scour the nation for a fan whose fandom knows no limits. Fireball’s Final Boss will chronicle their journey to fellow fans across the country, acting as a stand-in for every supporter who wishes they could be there in person.

For 21 days, the Final Boss will be immersed in pure darts mayhem; from the fan village to the front row, capturing every roar, missed double and thriller in a true money-can’t-buy experience made for those with daring, darting dedication.

The gig comes with a fully customised Fireball caravan, parked just outside the Palace – a testament to their commitment and the ideal spot for a celebratory, ice-cold shot after a day of darts.

Before opening up the search to the public, the committee put a few familiar faces to the test. Stephen Bunting, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price all stepped up for early interviews – but the panel quickly realised that while the pros love the sport, they’re also… professionals. And professionals aren’t always ready to take on 21 days straight of full-throttle fan behaviour.

To be considered, fans must prove they are as obsessed about the sport as Fireball is about fun. Applicants should proudly tick at least one of the following:

  • “I’ve called in sick or bunked off work to watch a sporting event.”

  • “I’d lie to my boss if it meant catching a crucial match.”

  • “I’d break up with a partner rather than miss my team’s biggest game.”

  • “My sports-watching habits have caused actual arguments with friends, family, or partners.”

  • “If I could get paid to watch my favourite sport full-time, I’d quit my job tomorrow.”

  • “I’d happily skip Christmas work drinks to watch the darts.”

As it turns out, the rest of the nation isn’t far behind.

A new survey of 2,000 sports fans reveals just how deep the devotion runs. s. Nearly a quarter (22%) admit they’d skip a personal commitment for sport, and 1 in 20 would even miss a major life event to catch a crucial game. sport.

More than a third (35%) would happily skip work for a big game, while 10% of the UK sport’s lovers would go as far as missing the birth of their FIRST CHILD. Two in five (39%) say they’d ditch a date, and 38% would even skip a family member’s birthday.

Workplace loyalty isn’t much safer. Over one in five  (21%) have called in sick to watch sport, and nearly as many (18%) confessing they’d lie to their boss to get out of work for a match. Meanwhile, over half (58%) admit they’d quit their job altogether if they could get paid to watch sport full-time.

And proving the nation’s love for the darts shows no sign of cooling off, nearly half (47%) say they’d drop other plans to experience the action live at Alexandra Palace – with 42% ready to skip their work Christmas party to do it..

“We wanted to find the biggest fan in Britain; someone who’d bunk off work, skip Christmas drinks and maybe even risk a breakup, all for the love of the darts. Because at Fireball HQ, we are all about pushing boundaries in the name of fun, sport and sporting fans.” said Lorenzo Farronato, spokesperson at Fireball.  “The Final Boss is that.. They’ve turned devotion into an art form, and we love to see it.
