Gymkhana Fine Foods is now exclusively available in all Whole Foods Market locations in the UK as the brand enters its first retail partnership since launching online in May 2022, starting with a range of restaurant quality Indian cooking sauces, and marinades.

Since Gymkhana first entered the London dining scene ten years ago, it has transformed the way we view Indian dining and introduced the nation to premium Indian dining, building a loyal community of fans including London locals, celebrities, A-listers, foodies and visitors from around the world.

JKS Restaurants, the group behind Gymkhana have always been committed to pushing the boundaries of innovative dining experiences and shaping food trends across the capital. Now, they’re partnering with former Mars Director, Gulrez Arora, to bring that same finesse, quality, and experience to your kitchen at home with Gymkhana Fine Foods.

Gulrez Arora, CEO & co-founder for Gymkhana Fine Foods, said: “We are very excited about launching exclusively at Whole Foods Market in the UK. It’s a dream retailer for any new consumer brand with its focus on quality and shaping the food trends of tomorrow. Whole Foods Market allows us to further our mission of bringing Michelin star quality Indian food to consumer’s home and create the ultimate premium ‘make-away’ experience that delivers the taste and quality of Gymkhana’s restaurant standards and convenience of takeaway.”

Indian cuisine is one of the most loved cuisines in the UK and is second to Italian when it comes to cooking at-home. Further globally, it is one of the fastest-growing categories worth over $5B across the UK and the US. Gymkhana Fine Foods aims to deliver a range of products that take Indian cooking at home to new heights, whilst remaining effortless for diners.

The range has been developed over several months to ensure Michelin star precision, with thoughtfully sourced ingredients from India and the UK that offers consumers the exact same flavours as in Gymkhana. Expect the same rich depth of flavour and taste as the restaurant, allowing shoppers to spend more time at the table and less in the kitchen. Whether a family get-together, garden BBQ, a quick convenient meal or a fancy dinner party – Gymkhana has done the hard work for you.

“At Whole Foods Market, we are always looking for unique brands as a part of our promise to provide our customers with a high-quality offering centred around innovation,” said Louise Allen, senior product development & innovation expert at Whole Foods Market.

“This is why we are delighted to be launching Gymkhana Fine Foods exclusively in our seven Whole Foods Market stores across London, offering our customers the highest quality Indian dining experience at home. The sauces and marinades are a true reflection of the Michelin star precision found in the iconic London restaurant, made using the finest natural ingredients with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, aligning perfectly with our Whole Foods Market industry leading quality standards. The trend towards customers looking for heat from hot peppers around the globe is continuously evolving, and we are thrilled to have these bold and innovative flavours hitting our shelves.

The new range of Indian pantry staples will be created in small batches, using all natural ingredients, with no artificial colours or added preservatives. The initial range includes eight products, featuring four sauces, two marinades and two chutneys. All will allow consumers to recreate Gymkhana’s legendary dishes at home in a few simple steps without compromising on flavour.

Cooking Sauces:

  • Butter Masala
  • Goan Curry
  • Rogan Josh
  • Vindaloo

Marinades:

  • Classic Tandoori
  • Roasted Garlic & Chilli

Karam Sethi, co-founder of JKS restaurants, said: “The creation of Gymkhana Fine Foods has been driven by the same ambitions we had when first opening Gymkhana ten years ago. We want to offer an elevated and pure Indian dining experience that represents the true flavours of India. The initial range of sauces, marinades and chutneys has been designed to innovate how we consume Indian flavours at home, fine-tuning the restaurant recipes of our most loved dishes to bring them to the nation’s kitchen tables. We hope this range will lead the way in defining a new category of premium at-home products.”
