Independent Manchester business Michael’s Coffee House has become the latest new arrival at Manchester Arndale after signing a 10-year lease to occupy a 544sq ft space on Halle Place.
Founded in 2017 by Thanasis Michael, Michael’s Coffee House is an independent café based in Manchester’s Royal Exchange which specialises in organically grown, high-quality, ethically sourced coffee beans and crafts a wide variety of contemporary coffee beverages.
As well as serving a variety of hot beverages, Michael’s provides smoothies, milkshakes and juices. The café also offers toasties, breakfast buns and soups with customers able to order ahead to pick up their refreshments at specific times.
Michael’s arrival follows the news that Castore and BPerfect have signed leases at Manchester Arndale. Castore, a leading high-performance sportswear brand, will add to Manchester Arndale’s fitness and apparel lineup whilst customers will be able to sample BPerfect’s variety of makeup, tanning and beauty products in their first megastore in England.
Scott Linard, portfolio manager for M&G Real Estate, said: “Michael’s Coffee House adds to our diverse food and beverage mix at Manchester Arndale which offers a real variety of choice for our customers. It is also great to welcome another growing Manchester-based business to the centre as we continue our commitment of supporting local independent brands who are seeking to grow their presence in the city.”
Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, added: “Michael’s Coffee House is an exciting independent café which will provide our customers with a great choice of food and drink options. We are proud to have cultivated a fantastic tenant line-up, the success of which is why we continue to attract and establish relationships with new and exciting brands at Manchester Arndale.”
M&G Real Estate and Global Mutual act as joint asset managers of Manchester Arndale and New Cathedral Street while Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are the centre’s retained letting agents, with Green & Partners retained lease advisory agents.
