New research shows over one third of Brits dislike liquorice, but Danish confectionery brand LAKRIDS BY BÜLOW is on a mission to change the nation’s opinion this International Liquorice Day (12th April) with its gourmet chocolate-coated liquorice.
The brand launches its global campaign, WE MAKE THE WORLD TASTE LIQUORICE, which will see the world’s largest liquorice tasting on Friday 11th April and Saturday 12th April, handing out one million samples across the globe. Brits can take part by visiting the brand’s London stores or John Lewis stores across the UK.
To celebrate its global campaign, the brand has commissioned research to highlight the polarising opinions around the taste of liquorice, reinforcing its brand mission to make the world love liquorice, one liquorice at a time.
The study surveying 1,000 Brits reveals:
Almost ¼ of Brits claim they could never be converted into liquorice lovers
Liquorice is more popular among the older generation, whereas younger generations hold a strong aversion to it, with over 50% of Brits aged between 18-24 admitting they dislike or even hate liquorice
Almost a third of Brits report they never eat liquorice
Only 7.6% of people have been converted from a hater to a lover previously, however over half of Brits have never tasted liquorice in a chocolate-coated form
Converting haters into lovers, LAKRIDS BY BÜLOW is holding the world’s largest liquorice tasting all for free on Friday 11th April and Saturday 12th April, handing out one million samples across the globe. Brits can take part by visiting the brand’s London stores or John Lewis stores across the UK.
