Sci-Mx, the science-driven sports nutrition brand, is set to serve up a two-day padel competition in Manchester with the world’s best players in attendance – and tickets are completely free.
Twenty world-class stars of the sport – including the men’s and women’s world number ones – will go head to head in the Sci-Mx Padel Series hosted at the Manchester Padel Club in Heald Green on August 10th and 11th from 12-5pm.
ITV World Cup commentator, Sam Matterface, will return to the microphone for the star-studded two-day competition where fans of all ages can watch some of the biggest names in padel live, including men’s No.1 Agustín Tapia, women’s No.1, Delfina Senesi, UK’s No.1, Christian Medina Murphy, and many more.
Two exhibition matches will take place each day from 3:30pm to 5:00pm, giving fans the chance to see elite players team up in unique pairings and take on fellow world-class opponents.
On 10th August, Tapia and world No. 3 Federico Chingotto will join forces to take on Javi Garrido and Tolito Aguirre in a blockbuster clash. On 11th August, Murphy will team up with Lucas Bergamini to face the pairing of Senesi and Mario Ortega.
Fans can also look forward to additional exhibition matches featuring more top-tier international talent across the two-day event.
Sandy Chadha, CEO of Supreme PLC, owners of Sci-Mx said: “This is a massive coup for the Manchester Padel community, we are bringing in top class talent to the region and throwing the doors open for fans to enjoy two unforgettable days of world-class padel.
“It was important to me that this event was accessible to all fans, whether you’re a first-timer or play every week, the aim is to bring everyone together inside this state-of-the-art facility to watch the best players from across the globe face off in my hometown.”
Manchester-based Sci-Mx has also partnered with The Padel Foundation, a charity set up by professional GB player Nikhil Mohindra, to break down barriers and bring padel to communities across the UK that need it most, raising much needed funds throughout the event.
Nikhil Mohindra, Chairman, The Padel Foundation, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with SCI-MX for this event. At The Padel Foundation, our mission is to make padel accessible to everyone, regardless of background or ability, and it’s fantastic to work alongside a brand that shares our passion for helping people live healthier, more active lives. Together, we hope this event inspires more people to get involved in sport, build confidence, and experience the positive impact that an active lifestyle can have on both physical and mental wellbeing.”
Often described as a mix between tennis and squash, padel is one of the world’s fastest growing sports played by 860,000* in the UK and more than 19 million worldwide.**
