Seep, an eco-friendly cleaning tools brand based in London, has been named one of eight winners of the Sky Zero Footprint Fund: Local Heroes initiative. The business will receive a £20,000 TV advertising campaign to amplify their positive environmental impact.
The Sky Zero Footprint Fund: Local Heroes empowers small businesses making a difference in their communities by supporting their sustainability missions. Seep impressed the judges with its plastic-free, compostable cleaning products, designed to naturally break down at the end of their life – setting a new standard in the cleaning tools category. With a mission to eliminate one billion plastic cleaning products from ending up in landfill by 2030, Seep is driving positive environmental change in homes across the UK.
Through AdSmart from Sky, the innovative targeted TV platform, Seep will reach highly targeted local audiences across a range of Sky’s channels, helping to raise awareness of the hidden plastics in everyday cleaning tools and encouraging more households to switch to eco-friendly alternatives.
Laura Harnett, founder of eco cleaning brand, Seep, said: “We have a huge mission at Seep. We want to stop 1bn plastic cleaning products from ending up in landfill by 2030 and this support from Sky is amazing as it will help get the word out to more people about the hidden plastics in our homes. A lot of people don’t realise that every time they use everyday cleaning sponges and microfibre cloths that they are releasing microplastics into the water system and homes. We want to make sure that everyone is aware and can make the choice to easily switch to plastic free cleaning products. This support from Sky means the world to us and, as a start-up, is a campaign that would be something we would only consider in a few years time.”
David Sanderson, Director of AdSmart Local and Development at Sky Media, added: “These winning businesses are raising the bar for sustainability, proving that it’s possible to make a positive impact while scaling your business. We’re immensely proud to support these local heroes by helping them reach the right audiences with targeted regional advertising, enabling them to share their inspiring stories and drive real, transformative change.”
This initiative is part of Sky’s ongoing commitment to contribute to a low-carbon economy and inspire positive change for the planet.
