Chief commercial officer, Simon Comins shares his predictions for Christmas gifting 2024: “Own Brand Gift Sets – This year we expect our own brand gifting ranges to feature heavily amongst our best sellers as shoppers look for great quality gifts at great value. Our Studio London brush set (£15) was our best-seller last year and we expect it to sell out again in 2024, especially since we have introduced a new, limited-edition colourway. We also expect our Studio London Mirror (£20), Hair Styling Kit (£15) and Vanity Case (£10) to sell extremely well. In addition, we’ve introduced great value new Fruity Candyfloss gift sets (from £3), which launch with a limited-edition Body Mist and are already proving to be really popular. For the first time, we’ve also added customer favourites Extracts and Me+ to our gifting range, offering great value skin and body care gift boxes for all the family.
“Beauty and Healthcare electricals A number of new health and beauty trends have emerged on social media, inspiring people to try them out at home resulting in sell outs across some of our electrical tools. Last year, the Superdrug Water Flosser (£40 or £29.99 for members) sold out over the festive period – we have expectations that it will sell well again this Christmas, so have released exciting new colourways.
“Pampered Pets – We’ve launched the new Mad Pets range in stores and online and expect the fun, novelty but practical gifts to sell well, as people look to pamper their pets this Christmas and gift their four-legged friends. The range starts at just £5 so is the perfect Christmas treat.
“Kids – For Christmas 2024, we’ve completely relaunched our Fantasy kids range introducing a number of new fun and playful goodies for children. From BFF bracelet sets, to cute animal keyrings (£3) and hot water bottles (£8), all of the items are available from £3, making them the perfect stocking fillers for little ones.
“As an accessible retailer we are committed to making Christmas more affordable, with the aim of helping shoppers make the most of their festive funds and treat their friends and family this Christmas.
“At Superdrug the customer is always at the heart of what we do. With this in mind, we have focused on offering quality and value to our shoppers, ensuring the beauty and health products we know our customers want and need are accessible for all budgets.”
