As the UK prepares for the disposable vape ban coming into effect on June 1st, new research commissioned by übbs, the nicotine pouch brand, reveals the anxiety and confusion surrounding the shift – and the scale of the problem it aims to tackle.
The public is getting ready – but concern remains
A quarter of disposable vape users admit to stockpiling ahead of the upcoming ban, with many hoarding around nine weeks’ worth of devices. More than half (51%) say they’re worried about the transition, and 42% even admit they might turn to black market products once disposables disappear from shelves. However, there’s a promising shift already underway – 77% have explored regulated alternatives, including refillable vapes, nicotine gum, patches, and pouches.
A clean break from disposables
In response, übbs pouches launches a public activation at Manchester Piccadilly Station – a ‘Swap Shop’ that invites users to trade in their disposable vape for a free full sample of übbs pouches in bold flavours. übbs pouches offers an inhalation-free nicotine option with no smoke, no tobacco, no charging, zero e-waste, helping people to make the move to simpler, more sustainable options.
The General Manager at übbs, Steve McGeough, says: “It’s great to see so many vape users joining us. This event is about making the switch simple – and our research shows us that many are open to better, regulated alternatives. With bold flavours and no smoke, übbs pouches offers a satisfying option without the hassle.”
