Drivers visiting InstaVolt’s Winchester Superhub will be able to make the most of the longer summer days after the on-site Starbucks extended its opening hours for the summer months.
Until 31st August, the coffee shop’s opening times are extended to 6.00am to 8.30pm, giving early risers and late travellers more time to relax and refresh while their electric vehicles (EVs) charge, delivering a premium experience for drivers.
Working in partnership with food favourite Starbucks, the hub is built to deliver a convenient and effortless experience to EV drivers where they can stop off for coffee while they power up.
Located just off the A34 and near the M3, the Winchester Superhub is the UK’s leading ultra-rapid charging network’s flagship site, with 44 ultra-rapid chargers powered by 100% renewable energy.
Since opening in late March, the site has helped drivers avoid more than 120,000 kg of greenhouse gases – equivalent to planting around 3,000 trees and leaving them to grow for a decade.
As part of InstaVolt’s commitment to sustainability, the site also benefits from on-site solar generation and battery storage, making it one of the UK’s greenest charging destinations.
Positive reviews of the site praised the free coffee with every charge promotions, with one customer commenting that the site is “the future of EV driving.”
Delvin Lane, CEO of InstaVolt, commented: “Customers have been asking for the hours to be extended and we’re making it happen. This summer, we’re chasing the sun to give our drivers more than just a charging spot but a place to sit back and relax.
“We want to set the new standard for EV driver experience as the UK powers towards an electric vehicle future. Our extended opening hours will give our Superhub visitors the chance to rest, relax and recharge before continuing their journeys.”
The extended opening hours coincide with the ongoing promotional tariff at the Winchester Superhub of 54p per kWh between 7am and 7pm for drivers using contactless payment or RFID cards.
