To mark World Mental Health Day, 10th October, Seasalt Cornwall launches their new campaign Brave the Weather Together in support of mental health charity Mind. Getting out into nature – whatever the weather – holds many benefits for our mental health. It’s why Seasalt are donating £5 to their charity partner, Mind, for every full price Seasalt raincoat sold.
All raincoat donations will fund Mind’s vital services, helping the fight for mental health and supporting those with mental health problems.
Mind is the UK’s leading mental health charity. Founded in 1946 as the National Association for Mental Health, Mind offers information and support to anyone experiencing a mental health problem and lobbies government and local authorities on their behalf.
To support the campaign, two members of the Mind community who each have lived experience with a mental health problem, shared their stories. Ann-Marie and Dan feel passionately that getting outdoors has benefited their mental health and has provided a route to opening up conversation about the challenges faced by many. By opening up the conversation, the campaign aims to raise awareness and reassure others that they are not alone.

Seasalt encourage customers to support the campaign by sharing photos of themselves getting outdoors and wearing their Seasalt raincoats on social media using #BraveTheWeatherTogether. The collection offers a full range of raincoats to choose from, tried and tested on Cornish clifftops. All fully waterproof, and made for style and performance, with a focus on fabrics like recycled polyester and organic cotton.
The Brave the Weather Together campaign is part of a three-year partnership between Seasalt Cornwall and Mind. The clothing brand has committed to donating £100,000 per year for three years (2021-2023) to support the charity’s vital work.
Paul Hayes, CEO at Seasalt Cornwall, said: “We share Mind’s belief that no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone, which is why we are proud to support the charity’s valuable work. Our Brave the Weather Together campaign aims to highlight the importance of getting outdoors for our mental health. We hope our customers will wear their Seasalt raincoats with pride, reassured by the knowledge that their purchase will help towards providing support to people who are struggling with their mental health.”
Jack Matthews, associate director of fundraising at Mind, commented: “We are extremely grateful to Seasalt Cornwall for supporting Mind with our mission to be there for everyone experiencing a mental health problem.
“We are in a difficult time, with many of us feeling the lasting impact of the pandemic and now the cost-of-living crisis. We can expect to see a rise in mental health problems and increased demand for mental health services so the support we’re receiving from Seasalt through this campaign is really crucial. The money raised through this partnership will help us to keep our vital services running, including Mind Infoline, legal line, and our online peer support community Side by Side, so that we can be there for the people who need us.”
