Checkout.com, a leading global digital payments provider, today announced its partnership with HEYTEA, the originator and creator of new-style tea drinks and one of Asia’s fastest-growing beverage brands. The partnership has improved HEYTEA’s customer experience and supported its global expansion by offering localized payments solutions.

HEYTEA customers can now place orders through the HEYTEA app and enjoy a smooth checkout process powered by Checkout.com’s technology. By enabling a buy-online-pickup-in-store (BOPIS) model, this integration reduces queuing times and enhances convenience, a trend increasingly embraced by consumers worldwide. With Checkout.com’s support, HEYTEA has achieved a market-leading credit card transaction acceptance rate, contributing to a smoother payment process for customers and supporting the business’ success.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Shenzhen, HEYTEA is globally recognized for its signature drinks like cheese cloud tea and fruit tea, which have often become viral on social media platforms. The brand operates over 4,300 stores and has been expanding its footprint internationally in markets such as the UK, US, Australia, Canada, and Malaysia.

HEYTEA’s official spokesperson commented: “Checkout.com’s modular technology helps us adapt easily to consumer expectations across diverse markets, providing an exceptional payment experience to our global customers. Their scalable, agile, and fast approach aligns perfectly with our global ambitions.”

The bubble tea market was valued at  $3.1 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow to $5.4 billion by 2033. HEYTEA’s expansion strategy is well positioned to capitalize on this growth by combining its innovative drinks products with a best-in-class digital experience using Checkout.com’s solutions.

Checkout.com’s deep local expertise across 19 office locations worldwide is critical to the partnership, enabling HEYTEA to offer a wide range of payment methods – including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Google Pay, Apple Pay, WeChat Pay, and Alipay – to customers in markets like Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, Australia, the US, and the UK. By leveraging Checkout.com’s scalable and modular solutions, HEYTEA can navigate the complexities of cross-border payments while delivering a consistent and localized experience to customers.

With a growing presence in China and an expanding footprint in key markets, Checkout.com serves hundreds of businesses by providing tailored cross-border payment solutions. This partnership underscores Checkout.com’s ability to support ambitious brands like HEYTEA as they scale globally.

Brian Sze, General Manager, APAC at Checkout.com, said: “HEYTEA is one of the most iconic tea chains in the region and a personal favorite of mine. Their dedication to enhancing the digital experience for their customers aligns with Checkout.com’s mission to enable businesses to thrive in a digital world. We are proud to be the partner of choice supporting HEYTEA’s global ambitions.”
