Stuart, Europe’s leading sustainable last-mile delivery platform, has published its 2024 Sustainability Report, showcasing significant strides in reducing emissions, enhancing courier partner welfare and advancing urban logistics.

In 2024, over 50% of deliveries on the Stuart platform were completed using low-emission vehicles (LEVs), and emissions per package dropped by 24% compared to 2021, demonstrating that sustainable growth and operational efficiency can be achieved together.

These results demonstrate Stuart’s leadership in sustainable urban logistics across its operations in the UK, France and Poland.

“Sustainability remains a cornerstone of Stuart’s mission and a key driver of value for our partners and the communities we serve. Our 2024 progress shows that even in complex operational environments, we can deliver measurable environmental impact,” said Cornelia Raportaru, CEO of Stuart.

Key highlights from Stuart’s 2024 Sustainability Report include:

  • Environmental impact
  • Over 50% of deliveries on the Stuart platform completed using LEVs
  • 24% reduction in emissions per package delivered (vs. 2021 baseline)
  • Courier bundling rate improved by 4 percentage points specifically in the UK, reducing average travel distance by 230 meters per pick-up and cutting both emissions and client costs
  • 78% renewable energy usage across all offices, with commitment to reach 100% by 2025
  • Sustainable innovation
  • Continued offering of a 100% LEV delivery option, supporting clients in meeting emissions zone and ESG targets
  • Collaborated with cargo bike partners in London, enabling large package deliveries in dense urban environments with near-zero emissions
  • Successfully doubled cargo bike deliveries during the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, supporting resilient logistics and maintaining service continuity under remarkable security and traffic constraints
  • Earned EcoVadis Bronze Medal and a B rating from Synesgy, providing third-party ESG assurance to clients
  • Renewed ISO certifications for Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environmental Management (ISO 14001), and Information Security Management (ISO 27001)
  • Courier and community impact
  • Surveyed nearly 3,000 courier partners in the UK and France to inform platform improvements
  • Paid out over €1 million in market-leading insurance to UK couriers in 2024, with over €2 million distributed globally through the insurance partnership since inception
  • Introduced a courier tipping system, streamlined access to equipment, and improved customer support
  • Supported charities through donations and joint client fundraising initiatives
  • Launched a ‘Top Talent’ development programme to support employee growth and leadership

In 2025, Stuart will continue advancing toward its net zero target by 2035, with plans to achieve 100% renewable energy across all offices, expand cargo bike partnerships for large-capacity low-emission deliveries, and further strengthen its position as Europe’s leading sustainable delivery platform.
