Black Sheep Coffee plans 60 new London sites as Central and East London expansion accelerates

Black Sheep Coffee is strengthening its position in the capital with a new development agreement that will deliver a minimum of 10 stores across Central London, covering the City of London, Tower Hamlets and Hackney. The agreement forms part of broader plans to open 60 additional sites across London in the coming years, a move that would more than double its footprint in the capital.

The agreement marks new territory in London and signals the brand’s continued commitment to growth in one of the world’s most competitive coffee markets. While Black Sheep Coffee already operates a strong estate across the capital, this latest deal deepens its presence in areas known for high footfall, young professionals, students and global tourism.

The territory will be developed by new franchise partners joining the Black Sheep Coffee network for the first time, further demonstrating continued appetite for the brand’s franchise model in established urban markets. As part of the rollout, Black Sheep Coffee is actively targeting 1,500–2,500 sq ft sites in high-footfall, prominent locations, prioritising strong visibility and clear signage opportunities.

Central London remains a natural growth market, with dense commuter traffic, major business districts, leading universities and year-round tourism driving consistent demand throughout the day. These new stores will complement Black Sheep Coffee’s existing sites, making the brand even more accessible across the city.

Openings are expected to focus on high-footfall high streets, shopping centres and business hubs, embedding Black Sheep Coffee further into London’s daily routine. The stores will showcase the brand’s latest design evolution and expanded product range, giving more Londoners the opportunity to experience its 100% specialty-grade Robusta coffee and challenger mindset.

Alongside its London expansion, the brand is continuing to grow regionally, with 2026 set to see new store openings in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Nottingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Exeter, alongside dozens of additional locations nationwide.

Having delivered a series of strong openings across London in recent years, Black Sheep Coffee continues to see growing demand from customers ready to leave the herd behind in search of something different.

Oliver Brown, head of property acquisitions at Black Sheep Coffee, commented: “On the back of a record trading year, and a significant number of experienced operators coming on board as new Black Sheep Coffee franchisees, our appetite for new locations is bigger than ever before. We have seen Black Sheep Coffee locations outperform expectations in every setting including high streets, shopping centres and retail parks with our first UK drive thrus due to open in 2026. We are seeking 1,500-2,500 sq ft locations nationwide with high footfall, prominence, visibility and great signage.”
