Demand for the adidas running shoe collection worn in the sub two-hour world record marathon run this weekend has seen online search demand surge 335%.
In data collected by JD, queries for the adidas Adizero saw triple-digit growth on Google after Sabastian Sawe crossed the finish line in one hour 59 minutes 30 seconds on Sunday.
The silhouette worn by the 31-year-old Kenyan – the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 – was making its debut in the London Marathon.
adidas say it is their lightest ever running shoe, weighing in at just over 97 grams, 30% lighter than the previous design in the collection.
In addition, the trainer is said to have 11% greater forefoot energy and up to 1.6% improved overall running economy.
