bp and Felix deepen long-term partnership to help millions across the UK

bp and Felixbp and Felix today announced the next phase of their long-standing partnership, with bp providing multi-year flexible funding to support Felix’s work redistributing surplus food to millions of people across the UK.
The funding will support Felix’s core operations, giving the charity flexibility to direct resources where they are most needed and strengthen the operational infrastructure that underpins food redistribution at scale. In its first year, the renewed partnership could enable Felix to deliver the equivalent of 10 million meals to children and their families.
The next phase of the partnership builds on bp’s history with The Felix Project and Fareshare, which dates back to 2022, when bp helped both charities expand their capacity to provide fresh and frozen food and supported fuel costs. In 2025, bp became a founding supporter of The Felix Project’s new South London depot, including Felix Food Factory, which helps surplus food to be collected, repurposed and delivered to communities who need it. This support will continue through the extended partnership between bp and Felix.
Louise Kingham, head of country, UK at bp said “bp has supported The Felix Project and FareShare for several years, separately helping them expand capacity and get more surplus food to people who need it. We are pleased to provide flexible, multi-year funding that can help strengthen the infrastructure behind food redistribution across the UK as we also look to raise awareness of food insecurity and encourage practical action to reduce food waste.”
Charlotte Hill OBE, CEO at Felix said “The number of people experiencing food insecurity and struggling to afford enough good food to eat is very high, and the demand for our food is far outstripping supply. Felix is doing all it can to rescue surplus food and get it to the people who need it most, but to continue our work funding is vital. We are so grateful to bp for their support, this money will not only help us to cover our costs but ensure we can strengthen and expand our work. In this incredibly difficult fundraising climate, we would like to thank bp for helping us at such a critical stage in our development look forward to building on our shared impact in the years ahead.”
Following the merger of FareShare and The Felix Project earlier this year, Felix now supports 1.5 million people across the UK, covering 99% of UK postcodes. Together with bp’s nation-wide retail presence, the partnership provides a practical route to connect national reach with local need, ensuring more surplus food reaches communities in need.
