IMI brings its complete supply chain portfolio to the UK market

Swedish software provider IMI Supply Chain Solutions has launched its full portfolio in the UK, nine months after entering the market through its acquisition of OMS Limited, the British developer of the Vitesse warehouse labour management system. The move comes as UK operators face rising labour and freight costs heading into peak season, with growing pressure to drive productivity across multi-site distribution networks.

Since the January acquisition, IMI has continued to successfully support Vitesse’s established UK customer base, which includes Mountain Warehouse, Poundland, and Morrisons. Since then, the company has grown its customer base with 20% and plans to grow its UK team as it expands its presence in the UK and across Europe.

The launch extends IMI’s UK offering beyond warehouse productivity, to include its inventory planning, order management, warehouse management, freight cost management and delivery management solutions. The release of IMI’s full portfolio will help UK businesses looking for broader support across their supply chains, as they balance tighter margins with customer expectations for fast, low-cost delivery.

Martin O’Grady, manager product & development at IMI, said: “We’ve seen strong interest from UK operators looking for better visibility of warehouse productivity and labour costs. Many UK businesses are running multiple sites with different ways of working, and they want a consistent view of performance across the whole network. Labour and freight are two of the biggest costs UK operators are carrying into peak, and our focus is on giving them the data to manage both with confidence.”

IMI works with more than 400 customers across Europe in e-commerce, retail, wholesale and distribution, food, beverage and pharmaceuticals, and third-party logistics. Its entrance into the UK market is backed by a UK-based team, supported by IMI’s existing teams.

Niklas Rönnbäck, CEO at IMI, said: “The UK is an epicentre for Europe’s most dynamic supply chains, and the acquisition at the beginning of the year allowed us to begin building a key foundation here, with a team and customer base that know the market well. Bringing our full portfolio to UK businesses is the next step towards our goal of building Europe’s leading supply chain suite, and we’re looking forward to continuing to invest in our UK team.”

With the success seen over its first year operating in the UK, IMI plans to continue reaching further across the UK and European markets, building on its base in the Nordics.
