CulinaCulina today announced the future appointment of Fabian Koehler to the role of chief executive officer, effective 1st February 2027.
Fabian joined Culina in November 2024. As deputy CEO, Fabian has played a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the One Culina three-year strategy and the group’s recent transformation journey, creating a more unified company by strengthening collaboration across the organisation, simplifying the customer proposition and building a powerful platform for growth as the UK’s leading independent & specialist supply chain partner.
This change forms part of a long-planned succession strategy that will also see Liam McElroy, presently Culina Group CEO, remain supporting the group in a non-executive capacity. During his CEO tenure Liam has led one of the most significant periods of transformation in the company’s history by bringing together its multiple businesses under one Culina identity and creating a stronger, more connected business with a clear vision for the future. As Non-Executive Director, Liam McElroy will continue to support the delivery of the company’s commercial priorities providing strategic insight, guidance, and continuity as Culina enters its next chapter.
Fabian Koehler said: “I am honoured to take on the role of CEO and look forward to working with our colleagues, customers and partners as we continue to build on the strong foundations that have been created. Culina is a remarkable business with exceptional people, deep expertise and an unrivalled customer proposition. Liam has played a significant role in positioning the business for future success, and I would like to personally thank him for his leadership, commitment and vision.”
Liam McElroy said: “It has been a privilege to lead Culina and to work alongside such talented colleagues across the business. Together, we have delivered a transformational programme that has united our organisation under one identity, strengthened our culture and created a platform for long-term success. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved and know Fabian is exceptionally well placed to lead the next phase of Culina’s journey.”
Between now and February 2027, Fabian and Liam will deliver a structured transition programme, ensuring continuity for colleagues, customers, suppliers and stakeholders. The approach will enable a smooth transfer of responsibilities while maintaining momentum behind Culina’s ongoing transformation and growth agenda.
The leadership transition reflects Culina’s commitment to developing talent from within and maintaining continuity in the execution of its long-term strategy. With a strong leadership team, a unified brand and a clear vision, Culina is well positioned to strengthen its position as the UK’s leading independent logistics and supply chain partner.
Under Fabian’s leadership, Culina will continue to deliver the One Culina three-year strategy, building on the progress made to create a more connected, customer-focused and sustainable business for the future.
