Tesco delivers a festive surprise in Christmas ad starring Roisin Conaty and Anna Maxwell Martin

Tesco’s 2026 Christmas advert ‘The Wrong Address’ launches today, with a story about rekindled friendships, relatable mistakes, and some extra little helps from Tesco. The three-minute long film stars award-winning comedian and actor Roisin Conaty as Polly, a Tesco delivery driver who after many years unexpectedly crosses paths again with old school friend Lizzie, played by highly acclaimed actor Anna Maxwell Martin.

Receiving your big Tesco delivery at Christmas is an essential part of millions of Christmases in homes up and down the UK. When Lizzie accidentally orders hers to her old address, it creates the perfect level of jeopardy to kick off this year’s Tesco Christmas ad.

Given her new address is hundreds of miles from the one her delivery has arrived at, Lizzie is in despair. At the other end of the country, Tesco delivery driver Polly doesn’t want to let Lizzie’s family go without their Christmas treats, so she offers to help get Lizzie’s groceries closer to home. What should be a simple handover halfway turns into an unexpected reunion road trip as the protagonists reminisce and reconnect whilst making the epic road trip to deliver Christmas.

Earlier this year, Tesco launched its ‘Need Anything from Tesco?’ campaign platform which has helped tell the stories of how Tesco has shown up for customers throughout 2026- from quality food, great value on the essentials every week, and its community programme Free Fruit and Veg for Kids. This Christmas story is a continuation of Tesco’s commitment to supporting every customer, across every moment of the year.

Roisin Conaty said: “I love that this story centres on female friendship. It starts in a way many people can relate to, all stress and mayhem, but shows how one small act of kindness can bring people back together after years apart. It’s lovely to show Polly and Lizzie reuniting and celebrating kindness and grace. Also, the silliness we can only feel with old friends alongside the magic of Christmas.”

Anna Maxwell Martin said: “We’ve all been there. In the stress to get everything perfect at Christmas, suddenly you realise you’ve somehow only ordered one singular sprout, totally forgotten wrapping paper, or sent a delivery to the wrong address. I’m really pleased to be part of a production that acknowledges that whilst we can all strive for our ‘perfect’ Christmas, it is in fact human connection that truly helps to make Christmas magic.”

Suzanne Quinn, UK customer director at Tesco said: “This Christmas, Tesco is showing up with plenty of extra little helps to deliver customers their very best Christmas. Whether that’s cracking deals on the products they love, delicious, exclusive food and drink, or festive experiences that bring families together, we’re focused on helping customers make Christmas happen. Because this Christmas, Every Little Helps.”

Felipe Serradourada Guimarães, Chief Creative Officer at BBH London and Dublin, added: “Tesco is such an icon and this story could only have been told by them. We’re so proud to work on a brand that is able to capture the spirit of Christmas for people across the country.”

The film was directed by Steve Rogers via Biscuit Filmworks UK x Revolver and created by Pete Ioulianou and Ollie Agius at BBH London, with the accompanying track ‘Everything little thing she does is magic’ by The Police.

The ad makes its TV debut during Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on ITV tonight (Sunday 1 November 2026) with the 60’ sec edit. This kicks off Tesco’s Christmas campaign which includes the return of the ever-popular Santas’s Grotto visiting stores nationwide, and much more.
