Janine Pemberthy, canine behaviour and training manager at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, tests Waitrose’s exclusive, Coronation ‘Jewel’ cake ahead of it going on sale, in shops and online, on Wednesday 12 April. The Coronation cake honours HM Queen Camilla’s love of Jack Russell Terriers. For each celebratory cake sold, £1 will be donated to the charity which will help dogs and cats. Last year, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, of which Her Majesty is Patron, cared for over 4,500 animals across the charity’s three centres including Jack Russell Terrier, Poppy (aged 9), pictured
Waitrose is going to sell two Coronation products which will raise funds for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home – a Jack Russell ‘Jewel’ cake (which goes on sale tomorrow) and a Jack Russell planter with a succulent – which goes on sale later this month. £1 from the sale of each will go to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
