Australia’s most dynamic portfolio of innovative wine brands, Fourth Wave Wine, is delighted to announce the arrival of its leading sustainable wine, Tread Softly. Founded by Australian wine producer, Nicholas Crampton, Fourth Wave Wine believes that one of the most exciting trends for 2024 is high-quality, naturally lighter-in-alcohol wines that are committed to reducing impact on the environment and as such, is excited to be leading the way with the introduction of Tread Softly to the UK market.
Created for the conscious consumer, Tread Softly is sustainably grown and made with modern vineyard and water management techniques to minimise environmental impact. It is bottled in lightweight glass, balanced and naturally lighter in alcohol. ‘Sustainable Winegrowing Australia’ certified, Tread Softly is expressive, unique and most importantly, lighter on the earth. Transcending the wine, Tread Softly allows its consumers to make a positive impact with each purchase, fostering a sense of satisfaction and alignment with values beyond the enjoyment of just the wine.
Raise a forest with your glass
In May 2019, Tread Softly partnered with Carbon Neutral in Australia and since has made an outstanding contribution to the planet by planting a tree for every case it has sold, resulting in 1.8 million trees being planted in the Tread Softly Forest (and counting). Set within rural bushland in Western Australia’s Yarra Yarra biodiversity corridor, Tread Softly has planted a bio-diverse mix of approximately 50 species of native trees to restore the lands that were once cleared for agricultural use, to restore the land and grow a thriving ecosystem of flora and fauna. To date, the Tread Softly Forest has seen the return of native species and wildlife that have not been sighted in the area for years and is expected to reach 2 million trees planted by mid-2024.
In the UK, Tread Softly has partnered with Rewilding Britain to expand its contribution to a greener future by supporting regenerative initiatives and programs that work to improve lives for people, nature and climate.

Nicholas Crampton, director of fourth Wave Wine comments: “We are thrilled to bring our leading sustainable moderate & 0% wines to the UK market. We really believe the trend towards lighter and sustainable wines is not fleeting. Tread Softly is Australia’s leading sustainable wine brand for good reason and is driven by solid consumer demand for better-for-you options and environmental considerations. Tread Softly goes beyond the product, it supports a cause larger than itself and aims to connect with an ever-evolving-evolving community to be and do better.”

Now available at Waitrose stores nationwide is Tread Softly Rosé 2023. Salmon pink in colour, Tread Softly Rosé 2023 boasts a lighter ABV of 9.9%. On the palate, red fruits precede vibrant floral and citrus notes, with lifted aromas of soft strawberries and cream as well as subtle spice. Fresh and bright with a creamy texture it makes for the perfect accompaniment to the softer moments in life and dishes such as lightly barbecue seafood, sushi and summer platters of cheese and charcuterie.
The Tread Softly range of 0% wines is available to purchase in the UK at Zero Zilch Zip, the specialist importer and distributor of the finest non-alcoholic wines from around the world. The range includes:
  • Tread Softly Everything Except Pinot Grigio – Non Alcoholic White Wine
  • Tread Softly Everything Except Non Alcoholic Pinot Noir Red Wine 2022
  • Tread Softly Everything Except Non Alcoholic Rosé Wine 2022
  • Tread Softly Everything Except Non Alcoholic Shiraz Red Wine 2021
Made by using the high vacuum low-pressure distillation method, this range of zero alcohol wines is hand-crafted using only high-quality grapes from South Australian vineyards ensuring the wines remain vibrant and full-flavoured.
Tim Pethick, founder of Zero Zilch Zip, comments: ”When I was searching the world for the very best non-alcoholic wines I was impressed with what I found in Australia. I was particularly keen to bring the Tread Softly Everything Except Rosé to the UK. Not only was it highly rated by Aussie consumers (some rated it a 10/10) but the ethos of the brand really resonated with me, as I am sure it will with our customers. Tread Softly is known for its environmentally conscious focus. It is also a fantastically refreshing ‘poolside’ rosé.
