The organic alternative to refined sugars and syrups launched in 2021 and will be available from March 24th in over 260 Waitrose locations and online.
The syrup is low fat and natural, made from 100% dates and joins Waitrose’s existing stock of The Groovy Food Company’s products including Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Coconut Sugar, Coconut Flour and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Cooking Spray.
A tablespoon of date syrup contains more than twice the potassium, calcium, and magnesium levels of maple syrup or honey.
The expansion of this partnership with Waitrose follows a growing demand for organic food; the UK’s organic food market is currently growing at a rate of 5.2% and is now worth £3.1 billion. The use of date syrup has also increased amongst consumers, with many choosing it as a healthier alternative to sugary products such as maple syrup.
