IcelandThe Vegetarian Society is pleased to announce that a range of products from Iceland Foods has officially achieved Vegetarian Society Approved accreditation. This recognition assures customers that a wide range of Iceland’s vegetarian, vegan, and plant-based products meet the strict criteria set by the Vegetarian Society for its accreditation scheme. Around 20 products have been accredited, including the newly launched Iceland x TGI Fridays “melt-in-the-middle” no meat cheeseburgers, which feature plant-based cheese inside a no-beef patty.

The Vegetarian Society Approved trademarks are trusted symbols, signifying that accredited products have undergone rigorous checks to ensure they contain only vegetarian or vegan ingredients, are GMO-free, and produced with no cross-contamination with meat. Iceland’s commitment to quality and transparency has made them a valuable partner in promoting vegetarian-friendly food choices.

“We are delighted to welcome Iceland Foods to the Vegetarian Society Approved family,” said Nina Anderson, Head of Trademark Services at the Vegetarian Society. “As more people look for trustworthy vegetarian, vegan and plant-based options, it’s fantastic to see a major retailer like Iceland providing clearly accredited products that customers can choose with confidence.”

With the demand for vegetarian and plant-based foods on the rise, Iceland’s accreditation reflects a growing movement toward ethical, sustainable, and accessible food choices. The newly approved products will be available in Iceland and the Food Warehouse stores across the UK and online, making it easier for customers to shop with confidence.
