Cost-of-living relief: ASDA Money has a solution

ASDA Money has partnered with Kids Pass to help families save on days out this May half term and beyond. Families who purchase a selected ASDA Money product, including Asda Travel Money, will receive a free 6-month Kids Pass, unlocking hundreds of discounts on activities across the UK, while also getting great value on their summer travel money.

With the May half-term fast approaching, families are looking for affordable ways to keep kids entertained. Research from PayPlan shows that parents spend up to £3,045 each year to entertain their children during school holidays. As the cost of living continues to squeeze household budgets, ASDA Money is making it easier for families to enjoy fun-filled moments – whether they’re exploring local attractions or going on a holiday.

Kids Pass offers exclusive deals on popular activities like cinema trips, theme parks, and dining out – perfect for the half-term break and beyond. And if purchased alongside Asda Travel Money, families can also benefit from competitive exchange rates, getting excellent value for money both at home and away.

“ASDA is focused on helping hard-working families save money. When it comes to family time, we believe it shouldn’t cost a fortune,” said Lynsey Knight, head of marketing for Asda Money & Asda Mobile. “This partnership with Kids Pass is all about helping families make the most of their time together – whether it’s in the UK or abroad this half term – without breaking the bank.”

How to get your FREE Kids Pass:

Getting your Kids Pass is quick and simple:

  • Purchase a selected ASDA Money product, such as Asda Travel Money, as an Asda Rewards member
  • Complete the consent form to receive your 6-month Kids Pass
  • Enjoy hundreds of discounts on activities like cinema trips, theme parks, zoos, and aquariums
  • Join over one million families already saving up to £400* a year on family fun!

The insight behind the launch:

With the rising costs of family days out, many parents are struggling to afford activities for their children.  A 2023 Campaign for Learning study found that nearly half of parents (45%), stated they couldn’t afford trips and outings outside of school, with the figure rising to 57% in working-class communities.

Family days out are more than just fun – they provide valuable bonding time as a family. According to recent research by American Express, nearly 38% of parents spend money on entertainment and activities specifically to bond with their children. Eating out is one of the most popular activities, with just under half (47%) of parents saying they take their children out for meals to spend quality time with them.

Through ASDA Money’s partnership with Kids Pass, families can now focus on making the most of their time together without straining their budget. Whether it’s a family-friendly restaurant outing or a day at the theme park, ASDA Money is helping families enjoy more for less.

“We want families to spend quality time together, by partnering with Kids Pass, it opens up hundreds of exciting days out this half term,” added Lynsey. “Whether it’s a fun cinema trip or a weekend adventure to the zoo, the Kids Pass has something to keep every family entertained and help their money go further.”
