The Body Shop joins The British Beauty Council as a patron

The Body Shop is proud to announce that it has become a Patron of the British Beauty Council, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to championing the UK beauty industry and advocating for its needs with businesses and government.

As a global pioneer in ethical beauty, The Body Shop has spent nearly 50 years challenging beauty norms and advocating for a fairer, more sustainable world. This new patronage reflects a deepened commitment to play an active role within the industry, to champion positive change and promote growth opportunities.

The Body Shop continues to invest significantly in its core values, from innovating sustainable new formulas and packaging solutions, empowering women and local communities and maintaining a visible presence on the British high street.

Alia Hawa, chief commercial and brand officer at The Body Shop, said: “Becoming a Patron of the British Beauty Council is a truly meaningful step for The Body Shop. For decades, we’ve strived to demonstrate that beauty can be a force for good. We are thrilled to join forces with the Council to further embed ethical, sustainable and responsible practices at the heart of our beauty industry.”

Millie Kendall OBE, chief executive of the British Beauty Council, said: “We are delighted to welcome The Body Shop as a Patron of the British Beauty Council. The Body Shop has a strong history of pioneering ethical beauty – and, a lot of this can be attributed to the work of Dame Anita Roddick. Today, the brand remains key to the British beauty footprint and I am excited to see its renewed impact across our high streets, the marker of the success of our sector.”
