



Following a successful 14-year partnership, beginning with Project Fresh — the complete reinvention of ALDI Australia’s trading format — and continuing through the creation of ALDI’s market entry format for China, and the invention of ALDI Corner Store — a smaller, local model for Australia, Landini Associates has concluded its long-term relationship with ALDI SOUTH Group, culminating in the delivery of a singular global trading format, modularly adaptable for different store formats and building types across each of the brand’s five diverse territories: USA, Australia, Germany, Hofer, and the UK & Ireland.
The brief and design for ALDI SOUTH Group’s new global model were managed through the organisation’s International Real Estate Committee (IREC), under the leadership of ALDI USA and the day-to-day stewardship of ALDI Australia, with input from each of the five territories.
Trials commenced in September 2025 in Aventura Florida, with further experimentation continuing into 2026 in the USA. Refinement will be undertaken by ALDI’s local teams across the remaining territories from the second quarter of 2026.
Landini Associates’ interdisciplinary scope of works includes the creation of Brand and Store Design Guidelines, for, but not limited to, Brand Strategy, Building and Interior Design, Master Planning, Customer Communications, Tone of Voice, Signage, Wayfinding, Ticketing, Packaging and Uniforms design.
