Costa Coffee, the Nation’s Favourite Coffee Shop, has announced a new collaboration with Cineworld to open stores in up to 26 cinema locations in the UK.

As part of the agreement, Costa Coffee will replace the current coffee offer, with the rollout taking place throughout the year. The first few stores are due to open this summer, and the majority of sites are expected to be open by the end of 2026.

The 10‑year agreement is expected to deliver a significant long‑term sales opportunity, reflecting both companies’ commitment to enhancing the cinema experience while expanding Costa Coffee’s presence across high‑footfall leisure and retail destinations.

Under the collaboration, Costa Coffee will introduce its full range of handcrafted beverages and food, including its core coffee offer, hot food and sweet bakery items, enhancing Cineworld’s existing food and beverage proposition.

Each store will feature Costa Coffee’s latest modern store design, with a mix of sit-in and takeaway options tailored to a range of customer needs, from pre- and post-film visits. Guests will enjoy sleek self-service order screens for those on-the-go, a dedicated collection point, and comfortable seating.

All existing staff at the current coffee operator’s stores will be offered the opportunity to be retained and retrained in line with Costa Coffee’s high standards, helping to ensure a consistent and welcoming customer experience across every location.

Andrew Miller, Express and corporate sales director UK&I, Costa Coffee, said: “We’re pleased to be working with Cineworld to support the continued expansion of Costa Coffee’s footprint across the UK. This collaboration enables us to further strengthen our presence within high-footfall leisure environments, aligning with our strategy to meet customers wherever they are, while contributing to an enhanced cinema experience.”

Tim Sparrow, director of retail, Cineworld, said: “This partnership marks an exciting step forward in enhancing Cineworld’s customer experience. Costa Coffee is re‑energising our coffee spaces and strengthening the role they play in the cinema experience. Together, we’re focused on quality, consistency and reach, creating warm and welcoming environments that enhance the visit while keeping cinema at the heart of everything we do.”
