Livingston Designer Outlet, Scotland’s largest designer outlet, has delivered its strongest trading performance of the year to date, following an exceptional April Discount Event which saw sales increase by 72% year-on-year and footfall rise by 37%.The four-day April Discount Event, which took place from Thursday 30 April to Sunday 3 May, generated significant uplift across the scheme, reflecting exceptionally strong customer engagement and response to the campaign.
Importantly, the strong trading momentum continued into the following week, with sales remaining almost 30% ahead of last year and footfall increasing by 31%, highlighting that the uplift was not solely event-driven, but reflective of broader strengthening customer demand and trading performance across the outlet.
The final day of the April Discount Event also delivered particularly strong results, with sales up 81% year-on-year and footfall increasing by 54%, demonstrating sustained customer engagement throughout the event period.
The campaign also delivered stand-out results for a number of retailers and categories, with several brands reporting record trading performances, stronger footfall than Black Friday levels and stores outperforming wider UK portfolios during the event.
Michelle Whitelaw, centre director at Livingston Designer Outlet, said: “The performance delivered through the April Discount Event reflects the continued strength of Livingston Designer Outlet’s brand mix, value led proposition and regional customer appeal. It is particularly encouraging to see sustained momentum beyond the event period itself, alongside strong results across both anchor brands and premium retailers. Events like this continue to reinforce Livingston Designer Outlet’s position as Scotland’s leading designer outlet destination.”
The results of the event reinforce continued consumer demand for outlet retail, with shoppers increasingly seeking access to premium and aspirational brands at compelling promotional price points.
