Jisp’s Scan & Win platform delivers record shopper engagement in leading FMCG campaign

Retail technology company Jisp has unveiled the results of its highest-performing Scan & Win activation to date, demonstrating how brands can use digital shopper engagement to capture first-party data and drive repeat interaction in an increasingly complex retail landscape.

Developed in partnership with a leading UK FMCG manufacturer, the bespoke campaign combined Jisp’s Scan & Win Video technology, which lets shoppers scan product packaging without a QR code, with instant-win mechanics and multi-channel marketing to create an engaging shopper journey both in and out of store.

The six-week activation generated more than 1,000 product scans, with 62% of participants returning to scan more than once and the most engaged shoppers taking part almost daily throughout, a 93% repeat participation rate that points to sustained engagement rather than one-off promotional interactions. Nationwide reach and rich first-party shopper data have positioned the campaign as a benchmark for what connected packaging can deliver, strengthening manufacturers’ understanding of their customers. Off the back of the results, Jisp has since secured a contract with another leading FMCG brand.

Scan & Win represents the next evolution of on-pack promotions, turning packaging itself into an interactive, scannable media channel. Because it needs no QR code or campaign-specific printed pack, the experience is faster and more seamless for shoppers, while helping brands cut packaging waste, lower production costs and improve the environmental credentials of promotional activity.

Esther Lawrence, partnerships director at Jisp, said: “Brands are looking for smarter ways to engage consumers that go beyond traditional price promotions. What this campaign proves is that when you make packaging interactive, you create a completely new media channel that delivers measurable engagement and genuine excitement around a brand.

“The industry has been searching for promotional mechanics that work in a post-HFSS environment while supporting retailers’ and manufacturers’ digital ambitions. With the pack itself becoming the point of engagement, the limitations created by HFSS legislation can be more easily navigated and brands get a way of building campaigns that keep shoppers coming back time and time again.”

As retail media investment continues to grow, Jisp believes the campaign demonstrates the opportunity for brands to turn everyday packaging into an always-on engagement channel that extends well beyond the point of purchase creating in-store theatre and giving manufacturers a direct, measurable line to shoppers.

Lawrence added:”This result shows the scale of what’s possible when packaging becomes the channel. We’re excited by what we’ve seen and look forward to bringing Scan & Win to more major brands and retailers over the coming months.”
