Borough Broth launches organic chicken ramen

Borough BrothBorough Broth, the British organic bone broth producer, has today launched a new Organic Chicken Ramen, created in collaboration with Yuki Gomi, Japanese chef, food writer, cookery teacher and founder of Yuki’s Kitchen.

Inspired by the traditional ramen shops of Japan, the new recipe brings together Borough Broth’s organic, slow-cooked approach with Yuki’s passion for making Japanese food simple, nourishing and delicious.

Developed over several months, the Chicken Ramen is gently simmered low and slow, resulting in a clean, savoury broth with a rich umami finish. Balanced and comforting, it takes care of the time-consuming part of making ramen at home, leaving customers to simply add noodles and their choice of protein, vegetables and toppings for a quick and delicious bowl.

Yuki, author of ‘Oishii! – Everyday Japanese Food Made Simple’ (to be published by Quarto in March 2027), has built her career around making Japanese cooking more accessible. She teaches Japanese cooking classes at her London cookery school, Yuki’s Kitchen, where her ramen-making class is one of the most popular – enabling students to recreate dishes from their home kitchens. The collaboration brings that same philosophy to the new broth, alongside Borough Broth’s commitment to organic ingredients and slow cooking.

Commenting on the launch, Ros Heathcote, Founder and Managing Director of Borough Broth, said: “We’ve always believed the best flavour comes from taking your time and using really good ingredients and not cutting corners with cheap and quick flavourings. That’s at the heart of everything we create – slow-cooked goodness from whole ingredients in every spoon – and we saw a real opportunity to bring that approach to ramen.

“Making a great ramen broth from scratch takes time, but working with Yuki gave us the opportunity to develop something very special. Together, we’ve created a delicious, savoury broth with real depth of flavour that makes it incredibly easy to enjoy a comforting bowl of ramen at home.”

Yuki Gomi added: “For me, ramen is all about the broth. It gives the bowl its character and that wonderful umami flavour. I have really enjoyed working with Borough Broth to create something inspired by the ramen shops of Japan, while making it simple for people to enjoy a delicious bowl at home.

“We spent several months developing the recipe to get the balance just right. The finished broth is clean and savoury, with plenty of umami and depth, but still leaves room for you to make the bowl your own.”

Golden from the inside out

Borough BrothLaunching alongside the Chicken Ramen is Borough Broth’s new Organic Chicken, Ginger & Turmeric Broth, a warming addition to the brand’s range.

Made using Soil Association-certified organic ingredients, the broth combines the sharpness of organic ginger with the warmth of organic turmeric, two ingredients that have been used in cooking for centuries. The result is a deeply nourishing, golden chicken broth, full of warming flavour and ready to simply heat and enjoy by the bowl.

Ros added: “Our Chicken, Ginger & Turmeric Broth is all about simple, brilliant ingredients that earn their place. Ginger brings that lovely warming zing, while turmeric adds an earthy depth and beautiful golden colour.

“For us, it always comes back to the same principle: choose the best organic ingredients and give them the time they need. We cook our broths for 24 hours so our customers don’t have to, making it easier to bring nourishing, delicious-tasting goodness into everyday life.”

Both new broths are available in 400g pouches, RRP £5, and are available in Sainsbury’s stores from today.
