Pret A Manger has opened a new shop in partnership with Roadchef at Tibshelf Northbound Services, bringing freshly made food and barista-prepared drinks to motorists on the M1.
The new roadside shop will create 10 new jobs in the local community and operate daily from 7am to 7pm.
The opening at Tibshelf marks the latest expansion of Pret’s presence across the motorway network through its partnership with Roadchef. This is the eighth Pret store to open at Roadchef, with six stores opening this year alone, bringing Pret’s freshly prepared food to more motorists across the UK.
The expansion has also created over 50 new jobs across Roadchef sites, supporting local employment while giving drivers greater choice when stopping to recharge and refuel.
Further Pret openings are planned at Sandbach Northbound, Norton Canes and Watford Gap Northbound this winter, bringing Pret’s food offering to even more customers across Roadchef’s network.
Customers will be able to enjoy Pret’s full menu of freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, hot food, snacks and baked goods. Favourites include the All-Butter Croissant, Chicken Caesar Bacon Baguette, and Posh Cheddar & Pickle Baguette, all made throughout the day in the shop’s on-site kitchen.
Coffees, teas and iced drinks prepared by Pret’s skilled baristas will also be available. Club Pret members can enjoy 50% off barista-prepared drinks at the new location for £5 a month.
Sam Otterburn, head of franchise at Pret A Manger, said: “It’s with huge excitement that Pret opens at Roadchef Tibshelf, bringing our Barista-prepared drinks and delicious food that’s made fresh on site, each day to more people travelling along the M1.

Tibshelf represents the eighth Pret within the Roadchef network, and we’re delighted to partner with Roadchef to bring our Pret joy, quality and convenience to those looking for a break!”
Tim Gittins, Chief Executive Officer at Roadchef, added: “Bringing Pret to Tibshelf Northbound is another important step in our growing partnership and our commitment to giving drivers greater choice and better quality food and drink when travelling across the UK motorway network.
“As our eighth Pret store, this opening reflects our continued investment in improving the overall roadside experience for drivers. We’re proud to be building on our partnership with Pret, and I’d like to thank everyone involved in making this happen. We look forward to welcoming customers to Tibshelf and bringing Pret to even more of our sites in the months ahead.”
Plan your break and recharge at Tibshelf Northbound M1 Services.
