Launching on Thursday 5th November, The Liberty Christmas Chronicles follows the rituals that make up the festive season – from the first list written and bauble hung, to the journey home, the gathering around the table and, eventually, the quiet moment when the house falls asleep.
At the centre of the story is the ritual of giving. Across Liberty’s windows, store, film and digital channels, each chapter captures a different part of the Christmas journey: preparing, dressing, travelling, gathering, unwinding and resting, with extraordinary gifts discovered along the way.
The story begins with The Great Preparation: cards to write, lists to tick, tables to plan and trees to dress. The Get Ready Ritual follows, bringing shimmer, colour and a little festive excess to wardrobes and beauty routines, before The Journey sees coats buttoned and bags filled for the trip home. Then comes The Gathering – tables piled high, presents beneath the tree and rooms full of people – followed by The Pause, a moment for restoration and self-care once the festivities begin to quieten. Finally, …And So to Bed closes the story beneath Liberty prints, with the house asleep and another Christmas committed to memory.
For the first time, Liberty is also introducing a dedicated Gifting Curator service, designed to make finding the right present part of the pleasure of giving it. Liberty’s team of expert Gift Curators will work one-to-one with customers through a bookable service, drawing on knowledge from across the store to uncover gifts that feel considered, personal and a little unexpected. Curators will help navigate Liberty’s extraordinary edit and find something worth putting beneath the tree.
The experience continues in Liberty’s new Christmas Curator space, where presents can receive their finishing touch at a dedicated wrapping pop-up from Roxy Wraps, alongside festive gifting installations appearing throughout the store.
Lydia King, managing director, retail at Liberty, said: “Christmas at Liberty has always been about the pleasure of discovery. There is something very special about finding a gift that feels completely right for someone – particularly when it’s something they may never have thought to choose for themselves.
“This year we wanted to celebrate the whole ritual of gifting, from that first moment of discovery to the beautiful parcel that finally makes its way beneath the tree. Our Gifting Curators bring the personality and expertise of Liberty into that experience, while the Christmas Chronicles capture all the anticipation, joy and quieter moments that surround it.”
At the heart of Christmas at Liberty this year, Diptyque transforms the iconic Atrium into its Enchanted Forest for eight weeks, from 5 November 2026 to 3 January 2027.
Created in collaboration with contemporary wood artist Jean-Simon Roch, the installation imagines a poetic winter woodland where craftsmanship, fragrance and play come together.
Rising through the Atrium is a spectacular five-metre wooden pine tree, inspired by Roch’s hand-turned sculptures. Wrapped in a sweeping red Diptyque scarf and crowned with oversized red and green baubles suspended high above the space, the tree brings the Maison’s festive world to life on an extraordinary scale.
The installation forms the centrepiece of Diptyque’s Holiday 2026 collection and marks the latest chapter in a relationship between Liberty and Diptyque that stretches back to the 1960s, when two of the Maison’s founders designed fabrics and wallpapers for Liberty.
Around it, Christmas unfolds throughout the store through gifting destinations, personalisation, festive experiences and an edit spanning Fashion, Beauty, Jewellery, Home, Liberty print and LBTY fragrance.
This year, Liberty invites customers to step inside the story, discover something unexpected and make the rituals of Christmas entirely their own.
