Abu Bakr SupermarketHamza Hussain, managing director of Abu Bakr Supermarket, is set to lead a challenging 16-mile charity walk/run alongside Abu Bakr staff, boxers and members of the public from the Yorkshire area.

The journey will start at the Abu Bakr Supermarket in Leeds, passing through Hyde Park and Kirkstall, continuing to the Batley showroom, and finishing at the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in Huddersfield in April. The run will raise money for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, which supports children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire.

As a former amateur boxer himself, Hamza believes the challenge is worth while and for a good cause.

“As a business and as a community, we wanted to do something that truly makes a difference. Supporting the Forget Me Not Hospice is close to my heart, and this 16 mile journey gives us a chance to bring people together, raise awareness, and contribute to the incredible work they do for children and families every day.”

In addition, Hamza and the Abu Bakr team acknowledged the hospice’s efforts, saying: “We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Forget Me Not’s community engagement officer, Masood Ahmed, who is a fantastic ambassador for the charity, and is a pleasure to work with, thanks to his endearing form of boyish enthusiasm and caring demeanour.”

Members of the public are encouraged to partake in the event and support the cause with donations. Every contribution will go directly to the hospice, helping provide essential care, support, and services to children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the region. This event highlights the power of community, teamwork, and dedication, as professional athletes and local business leaders come together to make a meaningful impact.
