As excitement builds for a Summer of football, Asda is showing some love to a group of fans who often find themselves at the centre of the celebrations – people called Caroline.
From Wednesday 10th June to Monday 20th July, customers named Caroline can enjoy a free hot drink every day at participating Asda Cafés, offering a moment of calm and a break away from hearing a certain football favourite time and time again.
To give Carolines a well-deserved break, Asda is also pledging not to play the track in its stores during England matches this summer.
Whether it’s in pubs, living rooms or celebrations after a big result, the well-known singalong has become synonymous with football tournaments over the years. And while supporters may love belting it out, many Carolines have spent summers hearing their name called more times than they can count.
An Asda Spokesperson said: ”For years, Carolines across the country have had to smile politely while hearing the same football singalong on repeat every summer. While the rest of the nation joins in, we thought it was time to give Carolines a well-earned break.
“A free hot drink felt like the perfect excuse to put their feet up for a few minutes, and by giving the track a rest in our stores during England matches, we’re helping create a little moment of peace for Carolines everywhere.”
The promotion is available at participating Asda Cafés nationwide from Wednesday 10th June to Monday 20th July 2026.
