Customers can save big this Christmas as Asda’s fresh party food, including Exceptional products, are included in a 3 for 2 Mix & Match deal, running across 77 party favourites. Included are globally inspired dishes, signature flavour fancies and classic festive bites. When shopping the deal, customers can dish up a spread from as little as 40p per serve.

SPICE – AND ALL THINGS NICE
Hand-folded into pastry, and double battered for an extra crispy finish, Asda’s Exceptional Butter Chicken Samosas (serves 8, £5.50) contain chicken thigh in a rich butter chicken sauce.

In The Good Housekeeping Institute’s 2024, ‘The best supermarket canapés to serve this Christmas’ test, they scored an impressive 85/100. The review says, “Asda’s golden-brown, double-battered crispy samosas would make an excellent addition to this year’s party platter. They’re stuffed with flavoursome chicken thigh, cooked in a rich butter sauce, and are gently spiced with mango chutney and nigella seeds for extra crunch. Try pairing with a refreshing, light lager.”

The Exceptional Chorizo & ‘Nduja Mac & Cheese Cups (serves 10, £5.50) contain a creamy Barber’s Cheddar macaroni cheese with smoky ‘nduja, warming chorizo, béchamel sauce and mustard, topped with a crisp parsley and fried onion crumb served in a delicious pastry skillet.

The Exceptional Brie Wedges with Fig Whisky & Spiced Honey Dip (serves 8, £5.50) are from Asda’s 2024 signature flavour line – wedges of French Brie coated in a delicate poppy seed crumb, served with a subtly sweet and spiced honey dip.

When buying these three products in the 3 for 2 Mix & Match deal, shoppers save £5.50 off £16.50, costing just £11 for three party favourites. With a total serving size of 26 across the three, this works out at just over 40p per serve.

TASTE OF THE CLASSICS
With almost a third (33%) of Brits considering pies to be the best comfort food cure for a cold day*, Asda’s Exceptional Mini Pie Selection (serves 12, £5.50) is set to delight. Containing 12 pies, the selection includes six steak & Jule’s Brewery Pale Ale pies, and six chicken, leek & cherrywood smoked bacon pies – all made with British beef, chicken and pork.

It’s not Christmas without fish, and the Exceptional Tempura Black Tiger Prawns (serves 8, £5.50) are juicy Black Tiger prawns, selected for their meaty texture, in a light and crispy tempura batter.

GRAZING PLATTERS
An appetite for interactive elements has fuelled the grazing board trend (think ‘girl dinner’), with videos of the no-cook style serve using the viral sound amassing millions of likes and views on social media*.

Rich Harding, Asda’s senior innovation chef, says: “people love putting together something tasty, but are also looking for that fun, interactive (and social media-worthy) element too. We have created ready-to-serve, cost-effective options that spotlight delicious festive bites, at a fraction of the price.”

The Exceptional Mediterranean Grazing Platter is an expertly selected platter of antipasti from across Italy and Spain, including Queen Halkidiki olives, double-stuffed with garlic and jalapeño olives in Calabrian chilli, garlic & parsley marinade, Manchego cheese, sourdough bread sticks, slow-roasted marinated tomatoes, Italian bruschetta and a roasted red pepper dip.

The Exceptional Italian Antipasti Platter is a carefully curated platter of Italian cured meats and antipasti, with Italian Nocellara olives in an extra virgin olive oil dressing, Salsiccia fennel salami with garlic & fennel, Strolghino salami, Calabrian chilli spiced Coppa, 24 month matured parmesan cheese, and Borretone onions – soaked in Modena I.G.P balsamic vinegar.

Both platters serve 6 and cost £7, working out at just over £1 per person.

Alongside the Exceptional range, Asda’s Wonderful Chacuter-wreath is also an easy-to-assemble, DIY wreath centrepiece which is sure to be a showstopper this party season. It comes with Italian Milano Salami, prosciutto, Manchego Cheese triangles, mini pickled cornichons and sweet red pepper drops. Serving 10 for just £7, it works out at just 70p per person.

Asda’s fresh party food range is available in-store and online now and includes 77 lines.

Shoppers can also save big on the 4 for 3 Frozen Party Food Offer – including big brand favourites. Customers can bag four frozen items, for the price of three, including 8 Party Red Thai Santa Hats (160g, £2.75), 12 Party Pigs in Blankets (300g, £3.25),12 Party Chicken Nugget Christmas Trees (240g, £2.25), 8 Party Mini Prawn Toast (120g, £1.75). When shopping this offer, shoppers would save £1.75 off £10, to pay £8.25.
