Bearfields launches new Carved Roast Turkey into Tesco

Bearfields Bearfields has launched all new Carved Roast Turkey into 672 Tesco stores on 13th April 2026, joining its range of premium, made-without-nitrite, carved deli hams, which launched last September.
The extension of the Bearfields Family Delicatessen range into premium sliced turkey reflects growing consumer demand for leaner, better for you protein options, as turkey continues to grow in relevance as a versatile, tasty and natural source of protein.
The new Bearfields Carved Roast Turkey will be available in Tesco Superstores and Tesco Extras across the UK in a 90g pack and will retail at £3.50. Carved from whole turkey breast and complemented by a Sunday roast-inspired seasoning, the product brings indulgent roasted taste to the cooked meats fixture. It will be produced in their new manufacturing facility in Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire, which is well-equipped to serve customers across the retail, wholesale and foodservice landscape.
The sliced cooked turkey category is valued at approx. £100m and is delivering consistent year-on-year growth. Rising shopper penetration is the key driver, reflecting increased demand for lean, high protein options within the category (Kantar, 2024), supporting the launch of Bearfields Carved Roast Turkey.
Alongside the launch of the new roast turkey product, the Bearfields Carved Delicatessen Ham range has also been awarded expanded distribution to 672 Tesco stores, a clear endorsement of the brand’s performance and shopper uptake since launch.
John O’Brien, managing director, O’Brien Fine Foods, said: “We’re always looking to bring better food to our customers, which is why we have answered the consumer demand for lean protein sources that don’t compromise on quality or flavour. The most important thing for us is to continue producing ‘better’ products for our customers, and this latest launch is set to deliver just that”.
Mairead Golden, marketing & innovation director, O’Brien Fine Foods said: “After the successful launch of our delicatessen ham range, which is made without nitrites and artificial preservatives, we’re excited to be adding turkey to our brand. There’s a growing shopper desire for lean sliced cooked meats which are minimally processed, high in protein and taste delicious.  Our latest launch allows us to meet the needs of shoppers who are seeking better alternatives”.
Bearfields has a proud history of serving its customers across wholesale, foodservice and retail since its foundation in east London in 1907. The business was acquired by Irish cooked meats producer O’Brien Fine Foods in 2021, and this launch represents the brand’s second listing in a major UK multiple.
The company’s purpose is to ‘bring better quality food to everyone, everyday’ and the launch of Bearfields Carved Roast Turkey delivers on this aim.
