Bijou brings Terre de Providence Rosé to Asda nationwide

Bijou Bijou Southern French wine producer Bijou has launched its Terre de Providence Rosé into Asda stores across the UK (RRP £9.50), bringing a distinctive expression of the Languedoc to the retailer’s wine range. The launch follows as French rosé continues to drive category growth across UK off-trade, with volume sales up 23% year-on-year according to Nielsen data, significantly outperforming the wider wine market.1

Terre de Providence serves as Bijou’s flagship range. Built around varietal typicity, these wines are unoaked and designed to show the best expression of each grape variety. Made from Cinsault (60%) and Grenache (40%), the rosé comes from sustainably farmed vineyards in the foothills of the Black Mountain, where old volcanic schist soils help to retain freshness and bring a subtle mineral character to the finished wine.

The grapes are gently crushed before being cool-fermented separately with selected yeasts, then blended to create a pale salmon rosé with vibrant redcurrant and citrus and mineral notes.

To support the retailer’s sustainability targets and lower supply chain emissions, Terre de Providence Rosé is packaged in Bijou’s signature lightweight flute bottle. With glass representing approximately half of a wine bottle’s carbon footprint, the innovation forms a key part of Bijou’s ongoing sustainability strategy. 2

Edward Vellacott, managing director at Bijou, comments: “Terre de Providence captures what we love about southern France. As our core range, it’s all about showcasing classic grapes like Cinsault and Grenache at their best, while the old schist soils add a crisp taste and natural freshness that makes it stand out on the shelf. It’s great to see it joining Asda’s wine range.”

Alex Noonan, buying manager at Asda, adds: “We’re delighted to be bringing this excellent rosé from Bijou to our customers. As one of the UK’s fastest-growing wine brands, Bijou continues to deliver exceptional quality and value.”

With distribution across more than 45 markets, Bijou’s contemporary approach is simple: to make French wines easier to discover, without compromising on quality or authenticity, while highlighting the most exciting terroirs of the South of France.
