Black Lines to launch Aperitivo Spritz for summer

Black LinesThe Black Lines Aperitivo – a favourite cocktail on-tap, now reimagined. Moving away from Aperol, Black Lines is working with Gamondi Aperitivo to build a better rounded, more orange forward spritz. And for the first time, it will be available in bottles, joining their existing keg format in bars. This is the Modern Aperitivo. All while taking a meaningful step forward in sustainability terms.

A fresh take on a classic, the Black Lines Aperitivo Spritz blends bittersweet Gamondi Aperitivo with crisp sparkling wine and a refreshing top of soda. The result is a smooth, orange spritz with a luscious finish. Unlike Aperol, the Gamondi Aperitivo in the Black Lines version leans more on the orange-forward, bitter side, creating a rounder, more complex flavour.

At the heart of this new recipe is Black Lines’ partnership with Toso, a 120-year-old, family-run distillery and winery in Piemonte, Northern Italy. Gamondi Aperitivo is produced independently here, using innovative, forward thinking and sustainable practices – a step away from mass-market brands. This shift allows Black Lines to remove 20,000 single-use glass bottles from production runs every year, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.

For the past eight years, the Black Lines Aperitivo Spritz has been a go-to serve on tap in bars across the UK. For venues, the KeyKeg format eliminates bottle waste entirely, offering a smarter, more sustainable choice. Now, Black Lines Aperitivo Spritz is reaching even more drinkers—on tap and by the bottle—delivering the same refreshing, bittersweet balance with even greater accessibility.

Black Lines co-founder Casey Sorenson says “From the start of our conversations with Toso there’s been a clear, shared understanding in our approach to drinks, production and innovation. We can’t wait to bring their work into ours. Gamondi is orange- forward, round and delivers a more complex Spritz. We see the Black Lines take as the new modern Aperitivo, and we are excited for it to land just in time for summer.”.

Sitting alongside the Spicy Tommy’s Margarita as one of Black Lines’ top summer sellers, the Aperitivo Spritz taps into rich aperitivo traditions while delivering a modern, effortless serve. This is a classic redefined—bold, bright, and ready to serve. Ready to enjoy by the bottle and from 20L keg format.
