Research has revealed that shoppers are shunning wilted, overpriced bouquets this Mother’s Day and turning to LEGO’s Botanical Collection for a gift that lasts.
Google searches for the LEGO Botanical Collection have skyrocketed by over 500% in the lead-up to Mother’s Day, surging between the start and end of March compared to the same period last year.
In light of this blossoming trend for cost-effective and everlasting bouquets, analysts at one of Europe’s leading product comparison sites idealo.co.uk delved further into their search and price history data to uncover just how popular this unconventional gift has become in 2025.
The data shows that searches for LEGO on idealo’s site alone have spiked dramatically by 200% compared to this time last year, and that the LEGO Botanical Collection Orchid is leading the way for Mother’s Day gifting this year with a 70% surge in demand.
Katy Phillips, senior brand and communications manager, commented on the trend and findings: “The trending LEGO Botanicals are a great idea for Mother’s Day that tap into the traditional and heartfelt gesture of gifting mum’s favourite flowers whilst offering the fun twist of building something special together.
“They’re obviously a more cost-effective alternative to fresh flowers too, with these acting as a keepsake that can be cherished as opposed to being thrown away after wilting within one to two weeks.
“The LEGO Botanical Collection Orchid is actually down from its highest price of the last 12 months just 71 days ago (£41.99) and shoppers can currently save £9.00 on this popular choice.
“The best deal available ahead of Mother’s Day is the LEGO Botanical Collection Roses, which can be bought now for just £9.99 compared to its highest price of £12.99.”
