B&Q TradePoint, the leading home improvement retailer’s trade brand, is announcing today the launch of a new standalone TradePoint concept with the opening of the first store in Barking in March 2026. This innovative new store concept is dedicated exclusively to trade professionals, offering a personal 1-2-1 service, great availability, competitive prices, and speedy pick-up and delivery solutions. It provides a one-stop destination to meet the needs of their business, their jobs, their vans and for them.

This launch is part of B&Q TradePoint’s broader strategy to build its trade business, demonstrate value, and grow loyalty among trade professionals. TradePoint has consistently grown in recent years and in H1 2025 lfl sales were up +6.9% and TradePoint accounted for 22.4% of B&Qs total sales. Launching the new standalone store format at B&Q TradePoint Barking represents a significant investment, underlining B&Q’s commitment to making TradePoint a £1 billion business by making it easier for tradespeople to get their jobs done and to grow their businesses.

Graham Bell, CEO, B&Q, commented: “Growing TradePoint is a strategic priority for B&Q and we’re proud to be launching this new standalone B&Q TradePoint store concept to help make life easier for tradespeople and to help them grow their businesses. Understanding the needs of tradespeople has been crucial and as a result, reliability, speed, product availability, competitive pricing and extended hours are all key elements of our new TradePoint proposition.

“Our ambition is to make TradePoint a £1 billion business and as a key milestone in helping us to achieve that, we’re excited to be testing this new standalone store concept and to welcome tradespeople to the first store in this format at Barking in March.”

B&Q has listened to tradespeople and the new concept has been designed specifically to meet their needs. It  will offer over 5,500 competitively priced items – tools and materials, to take away immediately for every type of job from building, plumbing, electrical, and garden landscaping, to plastering, tiling, flooring, decorating and kitchen and bathroom fitting. Customers will also have access to an extended range of more than 25,000 products available for store collection or delivery to site. The new TradePoint concept will offer an expanded range of trade brands, such as DeWalt, Makita, Johnstone’s Trade paint and include Kingfisher own brands, such as Erbauer power tools and Site workwear. Services, including two timber saws and a paint mixing desk, will also be available within the Barking store.

With great availability, speedy pick-up and delivery solutions being a priority for tradespeople, the new B&Q TradePoint stand-alone store will offer extended opening hours (from 6am on Mondays to Saturdays and 6 hours on Sundays) and will include a range of collection and delivery fulfilment options. It will offer a new ‘same day delivery’ service within as little as two hours, ‘load and go’ same day car park collection, click and collect in as little as 15 minutes, and next day bulk delivery.  Trade-expert store colleagues and Trade Business Development Managers will be on hand for TradePoint members to place orders either in person instore or by phone, as well as online at trade-point.co.uk and the TradePoint app.

B&Q TradePoint was launched in 2011 for trade professionals and offers exclusive membership to those in trades such as electricians, plasterers, fitters, plumbers, roofers, decorators, joiners, tilers, builders, landscapers and facilities and maintenance professionals. It currently has 1.5 million active TradePoint members.

Whilst you do not need to be a member to shop at TradePoint, membership brings the benefits of the TradePoint loyalty discount scheme, whereby members spending £250 a month can qualify for a 5% discount or, if spending £1,000 can qualify for 10% discount for the rest of the month and the following three months (for full terms and conditions see: Trade Loyalty Scheme | TradePoint (trade-point.co.uk).

TradePoint members have exclusive access to dedicated TradePoint counters at around 200 B&Q stores as well as to Tradepoint.co.uk. B&Q currently has over 100 Trade Business Development Managers who provide expert advice and personalised support to help local tradespeople get the most from the products and services on offer.

The first standalone B&Q TradePoint store will open in Barking in March and will have a 32,000 sq ft. sales area.
