Following a highly successful launch in Waitrose Cherry Chouffe, the wildly popular Belgian cherry beer (made from real cherries) has made its nationwide debut into Tesco stores.
From the renowned Chouffe Brewery in Achouffe, Belgium, this award-winning beer is celebrated for its robust cherry flavour and intricate notes accentuated by hints of strawberry, almond, spices and sweet port. Using actual cherry juice, the round-bodied, soft, and delicate profile offers a satisfying finish with a subtle touch of bitterness. Cherry Chouffe was honoured at the World Beer Awards for two years in a row (in 2019 and 2020) for the category of “World’s Best Flavoured Fruit & Vegetable,” a testament to its exceptional quality and taste.
The iconic mascots Marcel and Micheline – are a stroke of creative genius by co-founder Chris Bauweraerts, representing the brewery’s playful and imaginative approach to brewing. You’ll find both Marcel and Micheline gracing the front of each bottle, bringing a delightful touch of whimsy to every sip.
Laurens Nies, head of sales at Duvel Moortgat UK, said: “We’ve witnessed a growing popularity for sour and fruit infused beers, it’s a totally different offering compared to the usual bitter beers like IPAs, and therefore provides as an option for people who prefer more subtle, sweet or sour tasting beers. Our aim is to make Cherry Chouffe available to as many people in the UK as possible – once people have tried its unique flavour profile, we’re confident that they will come back for more.”
