A unique festive aroma trail, one of the UK’s tallest real Christmas trees and more than 2000 metres of twinkling lights will be unveiled during a special switch-on evening to mark the start of the most wonderful time of the year at Cotswolds Designer Outlet on Friday 13th November.
Christmas will, quite literally, be in the air as visitors follow the 12 Scents of Christmas Trail. Familiar festive favourites, as well as a few scents that might be trickier to identify, can be discovered in charming miniature Christmas houses across the scheme with shoppers being challenged to guess them all correctly.
A fabulous 55ft Christmas tree, which is one of the largest real trees in the UK, will be lit up for the first time alongside over 2000 metres of lights across the outlet when the switch is flipped at 5.00pm to mark the beginning of the season filled with festive experiences, family fun and seasonal sparkle.
Also opening on 13th November, and running until 23rd December, is a new experience where little visitors can step into a magical Christmas wonderland to meet Father Christmas and his elves before leaving with a special gift.
The experience is free of charge with an optional donation to Cotswolds Designer Outlet’s charity partner, Gloucestershire Community Foundation, which supports charities and organisations across the county.
In addition, there’s a direct line to the North Pole with the much-loved Father Christmas post box and letter writing returning and, for a festive photo to remember, a giant snowglobe and a lit sleigh is being installed. Live music, the opportunity to personalise a Christmas stocking or present sack, festive food and drink, Christmassy pop-ups and much more complete the line up for an evening to remember.
Adrian Field, centre manager at Cotswolds Designer Outlet, said: “Christmas is such a special time and we’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing even more festive magic to Cotswolds Designer Outlet this year.
“From our show stopping real Christmas tree that’s over 55ft, to the 12 Scents of Christmas Trail that will put everyone’s sense of smell to the test, there’s something to delight and make the visit memorable for guests of all ages.
“We can’t wait to welcome families to meet Father Christmas and make some wonderful festive memories together. We’re looking forward to kicking off the season in style on 13th November and creating a truly magical atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.”
