Co-opCo-op reveals its Easter range for this year, featuring new and exciting Easter Egg and Hot Cross Bun offerings inspired by nostalgic and much-loved flavours of cherry bakewell, peach melba and the favourite ice cream flavour from the 70’s!

The convenience retailer has added six new Easter lines this year including a new Easter Egg inspired by a childhood favourite – Neapolitan ice-cream, whilst the classic Cherry Bakewell flavour takes star of the show in the bakery aisle. Meanwhile, fans of hot cross buns will love Co-op’s new Giant Hot Cross Bun – 133% larger than a standard hot cross bun.

Co-op’s Irresistible Neapolitan Easter Egg 200g (£7.00) is made with 100% Fairtrade Belgian chocolate and captures all the sweet, creamy flavours of a classic Neapolitan ice cream cone. A trio of milk, white and strawberry flavour chocolate, studded with a crisp wafer crumb, sweet strawberry sprinkles and fragrant vanilla seeds. Perfect for gifting big kids!

Also new to the range includes Co-op’s Irresistible Fairtrade Pistachio Crème Filled Eggs 100g (£3.00), which pays homage to the pistachio trend which continues to be hugely popular.

Emily Haworth, senior product developer manager, said: “Our Easter range this year is bursting with exciting new lines designed to delight our members and customers. Nostalgia is currently a powerful trend, with more people turning to food for comfort and joy.  As consumers look for flavours that evoke cherished childhood memories, you’ll see this theme woven throughout many of our products.

“Highlights from this year’s collection include our Irresistible Peach Melba Cake, perfect for those grey spring days, our Irresistible Neapolitan Egg, which is a true showstopper of an Easter egg, and what’s better, it’s fully Fairtrade, helping us give back to the farmers who need it most. And of course, we couldn’t resist bringing a nostalgic favourite into a new format, our Irresistible Cherry Bakewell Hot Cross Buns. Inspired by last year’s hugely successful Irresistible Cherry Bakewell Cake, which to the delight of our members and customers the beloved cake is back for a limited time only.”

New Hot Cross Buns that will feature this year includes Co-op’s Irresistible Cherry Bakewell Hot Cross Buns 4pk (£2.00), which contains juicy moistened sultanas, sweet, candied cherries and a fragrant blend of cherry and almond flavours. Also new is Co-op’s Giant Hot Cross Brioche Bun 400g (£2.30) – which is nearly two and a half times bigger than standard hot cross buns and is the perfect option for Hot Cross Bun lovers to eat all by themselves or share if they’re feeling generous!

In the cake aisle for the little ones, Charlie’s got a friend. Bubbles the Bunny Caterpillar Cake will join Charlie the Caterpillar Cake in a brand-new double trouble two pack (£8.00). Limited time only.

For the grown-ups, the nostalgic theme continues as Co-op has brought back, by popular demand, its Irresistible Cherry Bakewell Cake 402g alongside the new Limited-Edition Peach Melba Cake 372g (£3.70) – pink raspberry flavour sponge, filled with peach curd, topped with peach flavour frosting, peach curd drizzle and freeze-dried raspberry pieces.

The retailer is also bringing back its popular Irresistible Marbled Millionaires Easter Egg 200g (£7.00) along with its Irresistible Apple Crumble Hot Cross Buns 4pk (£2.00) and Irresistible Salted Caramel and Chocolate Hot Cross Buns 4pk (£2.00).
