Glebe Farm Foods, the Cambridgeshire-based business renowned for its PureOaty oat based food and drink products, has scooped double silver at the prestigious Great British Food Awards 2025.
The PureOaty Creamy & Enriched Oat Drink and PureOaty Porridge Oats both received the prestigious accolades within the free-from category, which celebrates the best tasting and highest quality products in the UK. The judging panel comprised some of the most renowned chefs, food critics, influencers, buyers, and food writers in the industry.
PureOaty Creamy & Enriched Oat Drink is naturally sweet and creamy and is fortified with essential vitamins, making it as nourishing as it is delicious. It is also100% gluten free and dairy free, proving that allergen-friendly doesn’t have to mean compromising on flavour. Notably, it’s the only oat drink on the market that is Coeliac UK certified, offering complete peace of mind for those with coeliac disease.
PureOaty Porridge Oats also stands out for its superior quality. Glebe Farm Foods’ method of only toasting the flakes once ensures the oats deliver on taste and offer a creamy, satisfying texture whilst maintaining the pure, wholesome taste that British oats provide.
Both products are crafted with 100% British oats, grown across Glebe Farm Foods family run farm in Cambridgeshire, or sourced from local farmers within a 70-mile radius. They are milled, processed, and packed on site, to keep food miles low and ensure maximum traceability.
Every batch is tested to contain less than 5ppm of gluten – four times stricter than the industry standard of 20ppm – making PureOaty products among the safest options for those with gluten intolerance or coeliac disease.
Philip Rayner, MD and co-founder of Glebe Farm Foods, comments: “We are incredibly honoured to receive double awards in the free-from category. This recognition highlights our commitment to quality and innovation in creating allergen-friendly yet great tasting products from the finest British grown oats. We hope this award inspires more retailers and consumers to choose local produce and celebrate the exceptional flavour and taste that British oats have to offer.”
While oats are one of the UK’s most successful cereal crops, it is surprising that a significant portion of oat-based products consumed in the UK is still imported. Although 91% of diary milk is produced in Britain, over 80% of oat drinks are sourced from overseas.
Yet consumer demand for homegrown products continues to surge. A staggering 71% of Brits are eager to support British businesses by purchasing products that are “Made in Britain”, with 40% actively seeking UK-made alternatives to products currently sourced from abroad.
For retailers, this represents a prime opportunity to cater to the escalating demand for locally sourced products, all while promoting sustainability and reducing supply chain risks.
To further champion this cause, Glebe Farm Foods has proudly partnered with Love British Food, an organisation dedicated to celebrating and promoting UK-grown produce, to make buying British food an easy yet meaningful choice.
