Essence SmartCare, a leader in IoT and AI-based advanced remote care solutions, part of Essence Group, today announced the expansion of its strategic collaboration with El Corte Inglés, the largest European department store group. The expansion will see a significant increase in availability of SICOR Teleasistencia El Corte Inglés, the first retail home healthcare product offered directly to consumers in Spain, to transform the way senior care is delivered across the country.

The initial partnership enabled SICOR Group, a subsidiary of El Corte Inglés focusing on safety and security products, to offer its customers next-generation solutions from Essence SmartCare’s Care@Home platform. Care@Home is a complete end-to-end independent living platform enabling seniors to age at home while providing their families assurance that they are cared for. With this expansion, the advanced technology will also be available online at https://teleasistenciasicor.com/ to help improve the quality of care and provide peace of mind to millions of seniors and their families across the country.

“We are honoured to further our landmark partnership with world leading retail group El Corte Inglés and deepen our impact in the Spanish telecare market,” said Barak Katz, general manager of Essence SmartCare. “Expanding this collaboration allows us to shift the senior care status quo in Spain and help even more members of the elderly community who want to maintain independence and age peacefully in their own homes with simple, easy access to our solutions.”

As part of the collaboration, Sicor Teleasistencia El Corte Ingles offers a unique service using Essence SmartCare’s Care@Home control panel and voice-activated communicator. The Care@Home Communicator is a wireless emergency solution featuring integrated intelligent voice activation which provides an additional layer of safety by allowing users to receive aid by automatically opening a 2-way call with the monitoring centre, even when they cannot reach the panic button. The platform’s control panel allows for management of all connected smart home devices. It features an interactive app enabling family members to communicate with their loved ones, monitor daily behaviour and receive alerts with different severity levels based on deviation from regular routine.

“Our 360° telecare service guarantees the best care at any time, anywhere and for everyone” said Eduardo Fernández Pineda, director of Telecare for SICOR Teleasistencia El Corte Inglés. “We strive to protect our customers in the best possible way and, after 9 months of continued success, we know making Essence’s technology widely available is the best telecare aging in place platform to improve the lives of our users and their families.”

“We are proud to partner with a market leader like El Corte Inglés on this unique, first-of-its-kind project, which offers seniors and their loved ones direct access to crucial remote care solutions via their local retail stores,” said Dr. Haim Amir, CEO and founder of Essence Group. “El Corte Inglés shares our commitment to providing peace of mind for seniors, empowering them to proactively age in place safely and confidently. We are thrilled to be working with them to expand our reach across Europe, providing cutting-edge technologies that make a difference and substantially improve the provision of care for those who need it most.”
